Rap Albums on Billboard Chart

Nicki Minaj is till the top selling rapper on the billboard chart this week- her Pink Friday sold 28,000 this week, bringing the total to 951,000 copies sold so far. That is just like 50k shy of platinum status.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy from Kanye West is up next, with 22,000 copies sold this week. The total of sales of kanye's 5th album now stands at 962,000 copies sold.

Eminem is at a total of 3,489,000 copies so far off Recovery. The album sold 20,000 copies this week. This album has shown strength so far.

T.I's NO MERCY album sold 14,000 copies this week, with the total at 382,000 so far. This can not be compared to any of his previous albums, which easily did more than this in their first week in stores.

Lil Wayne's I AM NOT A HUMAN BEING album is still selling, and it moved 6,700 copies this week.The total of the EP is now at 704,000 copies sold.

The Christian rapper, Lacre sold 6,700 copies this week, with his Rehab: The Overdose album. The total is now at 22,000 copies sold.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Nicki Minaj is untop with her Pink Friday debut album this week- that is, she has the highest selling rap album for the week, although i wont fully call her album a full rap album...too much pop in the mix, but i guess that is how it goes nowadays. Anyway, pink friday sold 39,000 copies this week, and it is now at a total of 890, 000. She would probably go platinum in about 4 weeks from now.

Eventhough Kanye West and Eminem both released albums last year, em's album was released far earlier than Mr West's album, but they moved the same units this week- 33,000 copies individually. Eminem's Recovery album is now at a grand total of 3, 348, 000 copies so far, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is at 915,000 total.

T.T is presently in jail for obstructing parole, but that isn't stopping him from making some money. His latest album, NO MERCY, sold 19,000 copies this week, bringing the total to 353,000 copies.

I Am Not A Human Being by Lil Wayne has sold a grand total of 680,000 copies, and it moved 15,000 copies this week. Diddy's Dirty Money album, Last Train To Paris sold 11,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 172,000 copies. Unfortunatley, Ghostface Killa's album, Apollo Kids is not doing so well on the charts. It sold 3,800 copies this week, and now at a total of 23,000 copies. Lloyd Banks is still slugging it out on the charts, and his latest album sold 2,600 copies this week-The Hunger For More 2 is now at a total of 82,000 sold.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Diddy and his Dirty Money crew made it as the first rap album on the billboard charts this week. I have not heard the album, but i have loved every "single" that has dropped from the album. Last Train To Paris sold 101,000 copies after one week in stores. I think the two girls (Kalenna and Dawn) off the group create a nice balance for diddy's not too good rap skills. I love how they bring that 90's feel in their music.

Nicki Minaj is holding up strong with her debut album; Pink Friday. She sold 97,000 copies this week, and she is now at a total of 658,000 copies sold so far. If you ask me, i think she is not doing badly with her sales. I follow her on twitter, and she is carrying out some aggressive campaign/promo up in there. I wish her the best.

T.I's NO MERCY album did 69,000 copies this week, and is now at a total of 229,000 copies after 2 weeks in stores. Although this is really bad compared to his past projects, you got to consider the fact that the dude is in jail, and was in jail the better part of 2009; so, he has definitely lost some listenening ears. I hope he can come out stronger and more level headed, because his career was on a rise before he went to jail last year.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the 5th album from Chicago rapper, Kanye West, did 66,000 copies this week, and his total sales now stand at 738,000.

Lloyd Banks's latest effort, H.F.M.2 (The Hunger For More 2) sold 5,800 copies this week, bringing the total sales of his third album to 69,000.
 
Sheek Louch, one-third of the Legendary rap group, L.O.X, recently dropped his 5th solo album, Donnie G, which did 5,500 copies after 7 days in stores. I think that is really low, considering the fact that he is now on a major label; Def Jam. His last album, LIFE ON D-BLOCK, which was more or less a street album, on an indie label sold exactly the same first week numbers. I am a fan of his music, and i followed through from when he dropped the first single off the album till when he dropped the album; i must say that he, or who ever is managing him was very sloppy with marketing the album. He didn't even have a video out when the album dropped. I hope def jam don't regret signing him, because he is really a great artist; but i do think the album would grow on people, and he can get down to grinding hard on better marketing and promo.

T.I Comments On First Week Sales Of "No Mercy"

T.I amidst all the controversy surrounding him...going in and out of jail, just dropped a new album. I guess that is the reason it didn't do as good at his last three album- that is if you check out the first week sales. Regardless, the self-proclaimed King of The South had some words for his fans and well-wishers.

"What up world? First off I'd like to thank everybody again for going out and supporting the "Hustle" yet again with "No Mercy" last week. I can't say enough on how much I appreciate the support and all the positive feedback. I read so many tweets, letters, reviews and comments that spoke volumes to how much love was still out there and how much respect still exists for my art and my passion. I put so much of myself into what I do. I even read over the negative comments cuz' that's the kind of energy I feed off of to adjust, evolve and improve my craft until it manifests into the closest thing to perfection on the next go-round. I love hearing your opinions on what songs you like most for the next singles. We are taking all of them into consideration as we decide right now on which direction to head in. I know this seems like an unfortunate set of circumstances to endure for a career with so much potential but remember adversity builds character and character takes you places money can't. I know what's in store for me in the future so I ain't trippin' and neither should you. For now all my love and best wishes to you and yours for the holidays. Y'all hold it down out there and I'll do the same in here. And continue to spread the word about "No Mercy" & Team T.I.." (Trap Muzik)











I guess he has a lot to thank God for; at least he is not dead, eventhough he is going through a lot. But, i really wished he would keep up the steam he was building up from when he dropped his first album.

You see what i am talking about? If he had not gone to jail in 2009, he might have dropped another album then, and kept the steam going, but see how he dropped. But, i know he wasn't able to do the right promotion for this album. I wish him all the best.
