Sheek Louch Say's he is Fire Right Now

One third of The Lox, Sheek Louch, says he is fire right now- i think i believe that, and i like the fact that he is working on a lot of material. The only thing i do not like is how he does not work the album after he drops. I think, asides from his first album, WALK WITH ME, he didn't have singles after the first one wared out. That is one thing he got to understand- if you want to make money out of this music industry, it is not about talent alone, you gotta build a brand, and how you do that is by staying in the peoples' eye...by building a brand...drop single after single, video after video, until you become a household name. I think you at least need to drop 3 singles backed with hot videos every time you drop an album as an artist.

I wish him luck, because, i think he really got better after he dropped his solo project, and he has been getting better after that, he is no longer the weak link in the group. I can say i would pick him over styles p now- although, i love them all, and i love when they are all together in a song.

Below is what he had to say about himself-

Like before, all you would really hear is Jadakiss and Styles P before I started having to do what I had to do. And that's what made me go out and do my solo projects, so I've been proving and proving and proving what I'm about every time I drop something.

So it's like, I want people to be like, "Oh d*mn, all right. Here he comes with that 'Kiss Your A** Goodbye' and '2 Gunz Up.'" And then I come with something else, so I'm continuing to show that so it's like, I'm still swinging in here. And right now, people are starting to say, "Wow, that n*gga's nice."

Every time I do something I feel like it's big. I even take that approach with the mixtapes. I know they're listening and watching, especially the motherf*cking haters. They're just doing that to say something and nine out of ten are saying, "Yo, that sh*t is fire." And then they gotta go, "D*mn, you know what? You're right. It is kinda fire."

Sheeks Louch Talks Secret of Longevity in The Game

Sheek Louch is one third of the legendary rap group, THE LOX, that were signed with Puff Daddy's BAD BOY RECORDS back in 1996. They appeared as guest appearance on both Notorious Biggie's second album, and Mase's first album. Sheek louch, jadakiss, and styles p, make up the super group.

Sheek Louch has released 4 solo albums, and he is still waxing strong. Below is what he had to say about longevity:

"I don't care if there's new artists or not. When I come in the club it's a big thing," Sheek revealed in an interview. "They're trying to follow the trend. They're trying to follow whatever's hot. And I'm gonna speak for Jada and Styles as well. We don't do that. We make our music what feels good to us, not what we're trying to be...I've ventured out and I tried. I had the 'Good Love' record and I got 'Party After 2' with Jeremih now. That's another lane that I discovered that I got. I really figured out that 'Wow, these women is on me right now.' If you feel comfortable with doing those records, cool, but [don't] come out the gate with those records because you feel the label wants you to." (Hip Hop Game)

Album Review: Donnie G

I have been a bit busy with school, and have not had time to listen to the new Sheek Louch album, "Donnie G", so i went in search for the review on the internet, and i came upon this lovely hiphop blog...asishiphop.blogspot.com, and ripped the review off their for you to read, pending when i write mine- do visit the blog and support real hiphop.

Below is his review of the "donnie g" album:
Donnie G: Don Gorilla

So I'm backed up on reviews but I did get to listen to the latest solo effort by the third member of The Lox, my man Sheek Louch. Now most people are busy talking about how nice Jada is or how real Styles keeps it, but I've always preferred Sheek verses to either of them.

The album begins with the "Rhyme Animal" intro and Sheek's bars are sharper than they have been in the past. See he talks that goon street rap but it is more polished than his counterpart Styles and more realistic and original than Jada. "Get it Poppin" has a simple but good beat that brings you in with the bells it incorporates. Now subject matter, he's not breaking new ground, he's got money, runs shit, and holds it down etc, but this joint could get spin in a more moderate club. Now "Club Jam" with DJ Webstar also has a simple beat that has some decent drums and generic club rap but it doesn't fit the Sheek persona as much. "Party After 2" with Jeremih is the more 'mature' club song and though you can tell Sheek is trying for specific sounds instead of stumbling onto them naturally, it isn't a bad joint.

Caseley sings the hook on "Blood and Tears" which is the required street album song about making it and being a 'success' now. "Make Some Noise" is typical Sheek and features an average feature from Fabolous. "Out of the Ghetto" is the song about what it says, but Sheek lets a little thug emotion out you could say. The hook is handled by Kobe Honeycutt. Sheek takes it down south alongside Bun B with "Ol Skool" and "Nite Falls" is normal East coast rap, both of which just seem like filler. "Ready 4 War" is the same but the singing hook works and offers up a change of pace. Grimey classic hip hop with Jada, Styles and Bully is on "Dinner Guest" and the fact it is just what you'd expect is overlooked because Sheek has to have this on his album and the song is set up to keep you interested. The album ends with "Clip Up Reloaded" with Styles P and Jada for the streets. "Picture Phone Foreplay" with Kevin Cossum is the song most unexpected even though it isn't too big of a stretch for Sheek, the idea is a little more than I expect.

Now song wise, we all know Sheek has a small box within which he is going to work and he moves around that box with ease. I prefer listening to this than anything that Jada has put out recently. The songs with his Lox brothers are all strong and he manages to throw in some new sounds and tricks to keep the album from sounding like one long song too often. The beats definately hold Sheek down and while his lyrics are never going to wow you, they are more solid than you might think.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy Sheek Louch's Donnie G album

Sheek Louch, one third of the rap group (THE LOX), just dropped his 3rd album(14th dec 2010), and he is giving you 5 reasons why you should buy his album.

The biggest reason you need this album is because it's me. I've been here for over ten years in this rap game and [I'm] delivering that hot fire to you consecutively. Non-stop. This is good music that you have to get. You think you know the dude but I'm showing you even more of my skills and taking it to a different level musically with my pen.
2. I'm A Grown ManDonnie G: Don Gorilla
The second big reason is because if you've been following my career for the longest, this record right here shows all kinds of growth from all my projects. I have grown as a man and that's first and foremost. I've gone through stuff in life with myself, my family, my son and really showing and teaching him new sh*t. So that reflects on anything you do. With your lyrics and all that. So that just poured out on the paper. As an artist, I'm not afraid to do them records like "Good Love" and not being afraid to get with a producer because I'm used to a certain sound.
3. Hood Stripes
My next reason is because if you're from the hood, I'm gonna deliver that to you. I got monster anthems on here for you. I got this record called "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" with the LOX that's produced by Red Spyda, and I got another joint called "Ready For War." I'm definitely still talking that sh*t. I got a record called "Make Some Noise" with Fabolous and it's hard. Check for that. I got a record with Statik Selektah too. "After Party" with me and Jeremih is the lead-off single too.
4. Party & Bullsh*t
If you like smoking or working out, that's what you're gonna be wanting to do even more with this album. When I get into the studio, I gotta get right with my liquor, my weed and if you ever been to D-Block's studio, we got pull-up bars and sh*t everywhere. That's just keeping that heart pumping and going hard while we're in there.
5. This Is Why I'm Hot
This album has some of your favorite artists on there with me. If you love and want to hear me and Fabolous together or if you want to hear the LOX together, you'll get that on there too. And the chicks, I can't leave them out there either, you got all them records on there for them as well. So overall I think this is good music. I really wanted to work with everybody, especially coming over to Def Jam for the album. They got a lot of people over here that I wanted to get with. I wanted Big Boi on another joint but he said he was doing something at the time. He said he'd still get at me for the remix though. I tried to [work] with everyone hands on.
You Decide. Will you buy Donnie G?

Guys, don't let the album cover scare you, it is a great rap album.

Sheek louch and Joell Ortiz Get Album Release Dates

I put Joell Ortiz and Sheek Louch together in the heading not because they are linked in anyway, but i like when REAL hiphop artist finally get release dates. I can say joell and sheek are the last of a dying breed of rappers that stay true to the game.

Joell Ortiz's sophomore album FREE AGENT got a November 7 release date, and Sheek's Don G album is to be out by December 9. I can't wait for this albums because i just started appreciating ortiz after he hooked up with Slaughter House(joell ortiz, joe budden, crooked 1 and royce da 5'9), and i have always been a sheek fan. This is sheek's 4th studio album, if you don't count last year's Life on D-Block street album.

What's up with L.O.X?

I think THE L.O.X is the best rap group ever. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but i have my reasons for the claims. I know people are going to say WU TANG CLAN are the best, but you have to ask yourself; how many of the WU guys are still dropping albums? How many of them were really relevant through their career? Apart from Ghostface Killah, Methodman, Raekwon, Ol Dirty Bastard and RZA, and that is just like half of the group. With L.O.X, there are three members that have been dropping individual albums every year for the last 10 years.

I am not taking anything from wu, they are legendary, but in totality, i think lox as a group and individual artist have achieved more if you go by the saying that you are only as strong as your weakest link. Sheek Louch was considered the weakest link on lox till he dropped his solo lp in 2003; after that, people started giving him his due respect. Infact, his record company threw him a party after WALK WITH ME dropped, because they didn't expect it to sell half as much as it did.

Okay, for those that don't really know them, i will give you a little history lesson on the lox. The group was formerly a two-man group consisting of two high school kids(jadakiss and sheek louch) back in the early 90's, Styles P joined them later. They got signed to Bad Boy records in the mid 90's after being introduced to puff daddy by Mary J Blige. They were guest appearances on Biggie's LIFE AFTER DEATH(97) album and dropped there debut album in 1998. The follow up to that came in 2000(we are the streets) and they have not had a studio album since then, but have alternatively dropped solo albums non-stop since then. Jadakiss was the first to drop a solo, KISS THE GAME GOODBYE in 2001; and then styles dropped Gangster and a Gentleman in 2002; Sheek dropped Walk with Me in 2003, and jada came right back with his second solo lp, KISS OF DEATH, in 2004, and the circle went on like that.

Presently, they are trying to get there latest lox album out through p.diddy, but are having

sheek louch moving to def jam

I remember on sheeks second solo album (after taxes) when he said, "jigga didn't go platinum till his third", refreing to the fact that jigga didn't sell platinum till his third album, vol 2. And i was really hoping that sheek would be able to make it happen with his third album, but i guess it didn't happen that way.

I am a big L.O.X fan, and i love jada, style's and sheek's music; but after sheek dropped his solo album, "walk with me", i became a bigger sheek fan than the rest two. Sheek used to be like the weakest link of the three back in day, but he had switched up his flow, and was dropping some mad verses. I knew sheek had that fire for greatness, without going too commercial like jada likes to do sometimes, so when i heard, recently, that he had inked a deal with def jam, i was happy for me.

I hope this works in his favor, because i would really like to see a sheek album go gold, even if he can't reach platinum.

Below is what he had to say;

"I got some real good music coming out," he revealed. "I needed that right machine behind it to get that record past the level that it stops, to push it further. And I was shopping it to a lot of the majors...but my man L and Butch, Czar, Mike Caruso and Lenny S...they brought me up in there to Def Jam. And Chris Hicks and L.A. [Reid] they seen the vision. And it's on...It's between a couple spots that's actually throwing real nice numbers and ideas at [The LOX]. I know everybody's been hearing about that project but it's for real, for real...we're meeting with [Diddy] on Wednesday." (XXL Mag)

JADAKISS SAID P.DIDDY HAS GIVEN THE L.O.X A SHOT AT AN ALBUM UNDER BAD BOY.

THE L.O.X, a rap group comprising of JADAKISS, STYLES P, and SHEEK LOUCH were signed to P.DIDDY'S BAD BOY label, back in the mid 90's. And due to working differences, they opted out of the label, after a long battle with puffy, but now they are looking to work with puff again.

People are looking at this as a wrong move, considering p.diddy's reputation with artist that have been signed under him, but i think l.o.x have nothing to lose. I think puff would give them the right exposure for the album, and it is a 1 album deal, so if anything goes wrong, it's only for this one album. What can go wrong? They are all grown men, they know what they are doing. He is not signing them individually, he is doing a deal with them as the l.o.x, and after the deal is done, they go and do what ever they want, individually. So i do not see anything wrong with this deal.

Below is what jadakiss had to say about the deal:

Speaking with Philadelphia’s Power 99FM, Jadakiss [click to read] recently gave light to the possibility of the forthcoming L.O.X. album, the group’s third album, but first since 1998, that would be released by Diddy on the mogul’s Bad Boy label. 'Kiss said that “[Diddy] put an offer out there for a one album deal.”

This would be the first L.O.X. album to feature the Bad Boy name since the group’s debut over a decade ago. Jadakiss has attributed a lack of industry savy on the L.O.X. part as one of the reasons for the split but acknowledges, “We learned a lot from [Diddy].” Jadakiss also believes this possible reconciliation “shows maturity as artists, it shows respect as men” and that “if we all make dollars then it can all make sense.” As of right now no deal has been finalized as the Yonkers group continues to put the finishing touches on the new album.

HAS 50 CENT FINALLY CRACKED THE WINNING FORMULAR.

For several months now, 50 CENT has been trying to get enough buzz to get out his 4th album 'BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT'. He dropped a single sometime last year, 'GET UP', but could not gather enough buzz to drop the album. Then he went on his dis-oriented formular, by going at T.I, LIL WAYNE, e.t.c. That didn't work, so he did the opposite and started making peace with his former rivals like, JOE BUDDEN, JADAKISS, STYLES P, SHEEK LOUCH, DIPSET CREW...

I kind of respect him for swallowing his pride, and realizing he really needed to keep it positive with his NEW YORK rap brethrens. But it's his latest single with NEYO, 'have a baby by me'. I am not a big 50 cent fan, but this song is a sure banger. The beat is banging; the hook he does before neyo's chorus comes on is on point, and neyo's chorus is the icing on the cake.

I hope this attempt would help get him more acceptance, because it sure ain't as rosy for 50 as it used to be. His album is set to drop sometime this month.

RUFF RYDERZ RE-UNION.

Ruff Ryderz as a group, consisting of rappers dmx, eve, the l.o.x(jadakiss, styles p and jadakiss), infa red, drag-on and beat maker, swizz beats, is making a come back this year.
The group was put together in the late 90's by brothers dee and wah. DMX had a wild buzz back then, so he more or less gave the group recognition. Also, the legendary rap group, l.o.x had made a name for themselves being signed to Bad Boy records. Eve's rap career blew up with the ruff ryderz group.
It was confirmed by wah that the rap group would be dropping another compilation by early 2010. But before then, dmx is goig to be dropping a new album by december. Then eve's album would come shortly afterwards.
