Seriously, when i came up here, i didn't know what i was going to write about; i am hungry, and tired from a hard days work, but like how most of the rappers on Young Money make up their rhymes(without thinking), i am going to write this artilce. Please, do not have the mind that i am trying to disrespect their style; in fact, i respect the fact that they(lil wayne, nicki minaj,...) can actually just spit out the first thing that comes to their minds, and still make it rhyme, and make some sence. I think that is incredible. And for the record, i do not really put drake in this bracket; i think, if you take time to listen to drake's rhymes, you would know he actually sits down to think, and write what was(is) on his mind at any particular time.
Okay, before i go off key again, like i do when i am hungry, i would like to say or give my opinion on Nicki's style of rap. Oh, before i go on, i would like to know if the rumours that she injects herself with some....some...whatever to make her butt grow bigger before any photo shoot or Video, or interview, or whenever she knows she is going to be seen by a lot of people. I just wanna know. I think it is cool though; she has to make her money, so if spitting tight rhymes alone would not get people's attention, then put in a little sex appeal.
I think the only thing i don't like about her style is the way she does that lil wayne retarded type of flow too much sometimes...imagine me, in my late 20's rapping along to something like that. Asides from that, i think she is cool with the lyrics. In fact, she surprises me most times. I think i started looking out for her after i heard her spit on the remix of that Gyptian track, "hold you" or something like that. I ain't gonna lie, i was blown away. Infact, that alone made me love that song. I think Gyptian should give a million dollars for that alone. Lines like "body smoking, cigarette/give them the roller blades, tell em to skate". They blew me away. And for the record, i pulled the lines straight from my head, not some lyric site...just to show you that i really like her rap on that song.
But, i have to say i can not stand Massive Attack. That was a big flop. I think that song was made when they were all high or something, and thought people would like it...becasue it is different. And i also think Baby probably felt it was wack, but didn't know how to tell Sean Garrett that it was lame. Garrett did the prodcution...the same guy that produced the Mario "break up" track.
Okay, what really made me bring this up is all the hype that she seemed to be getting lately...i think she is the biggest female rap star since Foxy Brown and Lil Kim, but when Kanye West said she had the potential to be the number 2 best rapper(irrespective of gender) EVER!!! Now, that got me mad. Anyway, that is just how i feel. And i give it to her; i give it to anybody that has paid their dues. Wayne paid his dues; rapping for years, dropping albums since 1999, till he blew up in 2008. And she also paid her dues...do a youtube search of her, and you would see that she really did pay her dues...she has been underground, grinding her music since 2005.
I think she deserves all the fame, following the principles and rules of success. And i also think she is a very good rapper, lyrically.
