Yeah, a lot is going on right now in Hip Hop. And before i go on, i would like to apologize for my OFF and ON nature of late, it has been because of my new book. In case you do not know, i just dropped my new book, so you can add author beside BLOGGER...LOL!
Back to what i know how to do best, which is giving you updates on what is going on in the entertainment world. Okay, before i continue, a moment flashed through my mind, back in 1992, when i was just...what? like 11yrs old, and i memorized one of QUEEN LATIFA'S rap songs, and no, it was not the FLY GIRL song, this was actually a rap song, but i can not remember the title. Back then, i would rap all the verses for older dudes and they would be like WOW! How can this young dude do this. And then, i just forgot about RAP music for a while after that. It was not until the mid 90's, around 95/96, that i started catching back on with rap, and i can say that there is nothing you can ask me, IN HIP HOP HISTORY, from that time to now that i wouldn't be able to give you correct information on.
The bottom line; i love rap music. Even though what is present right now is not what i fell in love with, but if it had stayed the same, maybe it would have become boring. So, back to what i can hear to do, before my train of thought got de-railed...hiphop right now is cool. I think T.I and Young Jeezy are stalling the release of their albums because they fear they are not going to do as expected. They sure would not do good numbers compared to what they have been known for.
I can say for a fact that if jeezy plans to drop his TM103 with the BUZZ off "all white everything", he is joking. He definitely will not sell a mill with that kind of buzz. The fact that it is a knock-off of JAY-Z's "all black everything" movement, and the fact that the song is not just hot would surely tell on the sales.
And for T.I, as much as i am a KERI HILSON fan, that song, "i got your back", or whatever it is called, is not taking him anywhere. He should find a hotter track to build a buzz on. And he is trying to hide behind the movie he is in to say that that is what he is focusing on, and would like to stall the promotion of the album.
I am not a hater, i am just spitting facts. Just as it is fact that EMINEM is killing it with his RECOVERY album, and it is going to definitely be the best selling rap album in a long while. It is already 2.4mill sold in the U.S alone, and 4 million copies worldwide; and still selling over 100k every week.
B.o.B is also doing pretty cool, and you guys need to check out for him. His album is a lovely listen, and something you can slot in when you are in the car with your lady and you want to listen to rap without pissing her off.
I am still waiting for more from J.COLE...I love WHODAT...But he needs a follow up or something. I don't think that buzz is enough for him to drop an album with. I might be wrong, but that is just my 2 cents on the matter.
