BEANIE SIGEL DISSES JAY-Z

Concidering the number of people that have come out to talk about how shady JAY-Z is, i am starting to believe that this dude is really a cold-hearted bastard,as all these people say he is; the type to only care about himself. I would have never thought in a 100years that BEANIE SIGEL would drop a diss record taking shots at jay-z. I can remember how jay had put beans against JADAKISS around 1999-2000, not concidering the fact that jadakiss was his homie, beanie siegel went at jada like a real loyal soldier. I read an interview of jadakiss where he said that that was his must personal beef. He said it was like fighting your own brother, because he said he had been close with beans whole family; his mother, sibblings...and for him to go at beans because he had some problems with jay, was the hardest thing he had to do.

Beanie sigel dropped a diss record aimed at jay-z, clearly through the direct disses, titled "i am not your average cat", which landed online this week.
Below are some lines from the track:

"This ain't a diss record, this a real record/How it feel to get exposed -- I was the fly on the wall, I witnessed," Beans raps. "I could say sh*t to make B look at you different/And my gangster was never on trial, I was, stood up tall, no snitch/But the rapper Shawn called the police on me/Because I was front row at the Blueprint 3/I just wanted to see him emcee/Reminisce when we were the R-O-C/But he called on the c-o-p's/Not only that, he brought in the f-e-d's/So that's telling me, F-U Sig/So F you too and F Bleek three/Whether I rap or riddle out this motherf*cker -- my name good in every hood."

I think when beans says he can expose jay, we all know he could actually do that, but who would lsiten to him? Jay has a lot of people hypnotized right now(excluding me though).
At the end of the track, he talks about how jay never came to see him or wrote or called while he was in jail last year. He also said when he got out, he tried to get jay to let him off the ROCAFELLA record deal because someone wanted to sign him, and give him some big money, but jay didn't let him go. He then goes back to all the beefs he fought for jay, and all the street credibility the roc benefitted back in the 90's that could be created to him being on the label. He specifically mentions beefs like the NAS BEEF, the beef with jadakiss, and the beef with the DIPSET crew that he had to handle for jay. It's just so sad that things had to turn turn out like this. Very ugly. SUPER UGLY.

Hours after the track hit the internet, MEMPHIS BLEEK had this to say:

"Just waking up my phone going crazy over this segiel sh*t," Bleek wrote Friday (October 30) morning. "I just seen son at power house wasn't nothing now its something..... I'm lost on that.... Guess that's how the rap game work....F*ck bleek 3 haaa that's a good one...And for the rec....I can't diss that's my nigg we gotta get up an chop it up that's all..He know me that's all I could say..." (Memphis Bleek's Twitter)

And you should know that nobody can talk about jay-z without fabolous butting in. I guess it's because jay has helped him in the past. below is what fab had to say:

"I jus heard a JayZ diss record by Beanie Siegel..," Fab wrote Friday (October 30). "That's ill to me.. And the record is hard! Never thought i would hear a JayZ diss song by Beanie Siegel....WOW..jus wow.. (Affion Crockett chris brown on larry king impression voice) To me its disappointing, i hate 2 c family fight.. But i dont know either side of the story.. So im neutral & enjoyin the music, as u should i made JayZ & Beanie Siegel a trending topic not even tryin to.. SMH...lol..i hate hip hop family splits & beef's... the Cam vs. Jim & Juelz, the Cash Money vs. Juve, B.G. & Turk.. Dr. Dre vs. Snoop... all bad." (Fabolous' Twitter)
Lets see where all this goes in a couple of days.

RICK ROSS AND BABY MAKE COLLABO ALBUM.

I think RICK ROSS is trying to stay in the media eye for as long as he can. After releasing one of the best rap albums of the year, DEEPER THAN RAP, early this year, and also currently about to drop an album with his group, TRIPPLE C'S, now it has been reported that he has finished a collabo an with CASH MONEY C.E.O and friend, BABY/BIRDMAN.

I think he is trying to ride his current buzz to the most he can. I respect his work ethics for that; i see ross as a rapper that is not all the way lyrical, but the image he has created for himself, and the way he drops his rhymes make up for that. He also has some great production on all the albums he has dropped so far. So i really respect him for being so hardworking.

The album is scheduled to drop in the summer of 2010.

JADAKISS SAID P.DIDDY HAS GIVEN THE L.O.X A SHOT AT AN ALBUM UNDER BAD BOY.

THE L.O.X, a rap group comprising of JADAKISS, STYLES P, and SHEEK LOUCH were signed to P.DIDDY'S BAD BOY label, back in the mid 90's. And due to working differences, they opted out of the label, after a long battle with puffy, but now they are looking to work with puff again.

People are looking at this as a wrong move, considering p.diddy's reputation with artist that have been signed under him, but i think l.o.x have nothing to lose. I think puff would give them the right exposure for the album, and it is a 1 album deal, so if anything goes wrong, it's only for this one album. What can go wrong? They are all grown men, they know what they are doing. He is not signing them individually, he is doing a deal with them as the l.o.x, and after the deal is done, they go and do what ever they want, individually. So i do not see anything wrong with this deal.

Below is what jadakiss had to say about the deal:

Speaking with Philadelphia’s Power 99FM, Jadakiss [click to read] recently gave light to the possibility of the forthcoming L.O.X. album, the group’s third album, but first since 1998, that would be released by Diddy on the mogul’s Bad Boy label. 'Kiss said that “[Diddy] put an offer out there for a one album deal.”

This would be the first L.O.X. album to feature the Bad Boy name since the group’s debut over a decade ago. Jadakiss has attributed a lack of industry savy on the L.O.X. part as one of the reasons for the split but acknowledges, “We learned a lot from [Diddy].” Jadakiss also believes this possible reconciliation “shows maturity as artists, it shows respect as men” and that “if we all make dollars then it can all make sense.” As of right now no deal has been finalized as the Yonkers group continues to put the finishing touches on the new album.

A LOOK AT THE BILLBOARD CHARTS.

Looking at the billboard charts for this week, JAY-Z is still waxing strong with his 11th studio album, BLUEPRINT 3. He moves 43,000 copies this week, bringing his total to 1,159,000. I think those are good numbers in just about two months in stores. I hope he makes it to 2 million copies.

The next notable rapper on the charts is DRAKE, with his SO FAR GONE EP, which droped some weeks ago. The album moves 17,000 this week, bringing the total to 197,000 copies. That is not bad for an album that was being given away for free on the internet a couple of months ago, exclusive of a couple of new tracks, every other song on the album has been heard before, just repackaged.

KID CUDI, KANYE WEST'S protege is the next notable act on the charts. He moved 8,900 copies of his debut album, MAN ON THE MOON:END OF DAYS, this week. This brings his total to 183,000 copies so far.

EMINEM is still waxing strong with his 5th album, RELAPSE, which moves 8,500 copies this week. Bringing his total to 1,490,000. This is good numbers considering the climate of hip hop right now. But if it were to be compared to his previous albums, then it would be tagged a flop. You can't compare this any of his other albums, in respect to sales.

ROYCE DA 5'9 rides on the recent buzz of his rap group, SLAUGHTER HOUSE (HIM, JOE BUDDEN, JOEL ORTITZ, and CROOKED 1), and drops a solo album. Knowing royce, and his lyrical capabilities, i know he would not disappoint, but the hip hop listeners don't seem to be feeling him. His album moves a slopy 4,600 in its debut week.

MTV'S HOTTEST IN THE GAME LIST.

There has been a lot of talk about this year's, 2009, MTV'S HOTTEST IN THE GAME LIST, people saying one person or the other was not meant to be on the list. If you would ask me, i think the list is on point. Nobody that is not meant to be is on that list. And, everybody that is complaining about it is not really looking at the definition of the list. It says "hottest in the game", not "best ever", or "most lyrical", or "highest selling rapper", and it also makes reference to the present time, that means you have to be hot right now. So, i just don't understand people that are saying the list is not credible and that mtv has just lost all it's credibility. That is just uncalled for, if you would ask me.

I would like to say, the only person i think deserved to be on the list and wasn't is JADAKISS. They could have just removed REAKWON, and put jada at number 10 instead. But maybe out of the utmost respect for him, they left jada out.

Below is the list;

10. RAEKWON.

9. 50 CENT.

8. FABOLOUS.

7. YOUNG JEEZY.

6. GUCCI MANE.

5. RICK ROSS.

4. KANYE WEST.

3. DRAKE.

2. LIL WAYNE.

1. JAY-Z.

So, that is the list,and there you have it. I am sure it was pretty tuff for mtv to put that together. I think regardless of how the list would have come out, it would still have offended some people. I think this particular list affects the list number of people though.

This is what JAY-Z had to say about the list;

"MTV, Thanx for this nod of appreciation," he wrote in a statement. "Although I don't strive to be 'hot' for any particular year, I thank you for the acknowledgment. My whole goal is to be recognized as the best ever. I created the term 'best rapper alive' as a sign of respect to my fallen comrades (Biggie and Tupac). I believe I've allowed a significant grace period, and I believe I would not be respecting myself if being the absolute best was not my goal, and that's why I continue to push myself until exhaustion ... salute. Sidebar: Kanye moment if I may ... Eminem?!?! I think you do the credibility of this list a disservice if you don't thoroughly explain his omission. As of this second he has the highest selling rap album of the year and a scene stealing verse on the best 'posse' cut of the year . (*Hands mic back to Taylor Swift ... and nobody was harmed, I apologize in advance.)" (Rap Radar)

You see what i was talking about, he says eminem deserves to be on the list, solely because he has the highest selling rap album thus far this year. I do not think that should be the one and only criteria, because if we really look at the rap scene presently, eminem has not done much but drop an album, and vanish after wards. An album that sold so much, and yet received the highest criticism, compared to his other albums. I go on blogs, and at least 80 percent of the people that comment on the album say they do not like it. Now, if we are to work on that alone,. you would understand why he was not on the list. I do not know the section of the population that contributed largely to the sales of the album, but i could hardly get anybody that really like the album in totality, maybe a few songs, but not in totality.
Maybe me, because i liked his display of skills, even though i do not like the fact that he is still talking about the same things (homophobic remarks, drugs, and his mom), but i am not the thousands and millions of listeners that make up the market.

Another reason why i would agree with eminem not making the list is that, asides from featuring on drake's FOREVER track, he did not guest appear on any other person's songs. He was not dropping hot video's, or doing cameos, or mixtapes, as i said earlier, he just dropped an album, and disappeared.

Now read to what the people at mtv had to say

Eminem's ranking was one of the most discussed topics at the Roundtable. His hotly anticipated return to hip-hop after a long absence drove first week sales of over 600,000 - the highest first-week of the year so far. He granted a handful of select interviews here and abroad, and was part of a massive moment with Sacha Baron Cohen at the MTV Movie Awards. But then Em retreated to the lab, where he spent the summer crafting Relapse 2. From June to September, Em all-but took himself out of the public eye, while other MCs generated week-to-week heat with mixtapes, guest appearances, performances and Web activity.

Wayne is at number 2, and this is what he had to say;

"Uhm, who's number one?," Wayne asked radio personality Tim Westwood in an interview. "Jay-Z? Nah, that's cool [me being at number two.] That's cool. That's okay, I thought Drake was gonna be number one. Eminem [is not on the list]? Who else is on the list? Gucci who? Gucci Mane? Gucci Mane was on the list and Eminem wasn't on it? [laughs] Shout-out my n*gga Gucci. [laughs]" (Tim Westwood TV)

A lot of people just kept commenting on the list, some going with it, some disagreeing, but non surprised me more than ATLANTA based producer/rapper, and C.E.O of SO-SO DEF records, JD. The one time rival of EMINEM, after eminem and DR DRE had dissed him on "say what you say"(eminem show),he surprised me when he rode on eminem's side for this one. Below is what he had to say about the list;

"WHATS UP LIFERS HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!," he wrote today (October 9). "TODAYS QUESTION IS ABOUT THE MTV HOT MCs LIST. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT EMINEM NOT MAKING IT? I PERSONALLY THINK THE LIST JUST LOST ITS CREDIBILITY BY NOT INCLUDING HIM. NOT ONLY DID HE MAKE A ALBUM THIS YEAR BUT THAT ALBUM OUT SOLD 75 PERCENT OF EVERYBODY ON THE LIST .SERGE WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO ME THE LIST AND WHY THIS HAPPENED BUT TO ME THIS IS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE KEEP SAYING HIPHOP IS DEAD. WE HAVE NO RULES AND THE FIRST RULE SHOULD BE, UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS THE RECORD BUSINESS (KEY WORD BUSINESS) THE END RESULT IS TO SELL RECORDS NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. IN THESE BAD TIMES OF THE RECORD INDUSTRY HE SHOULD'VE MADE IT FOR THAT FACT ALONE THAT HE STILL HAD THE POWER TO MOVE 600K RECORD HIS FIRST WEEK. ANYWAY YALL ALWAYS ASKING HOW I FEEL SO THERE YOU HAVE IT LOL!!!!! TALK TO ME!!!" (Global 14)

The only person that defends the list is the boss himself, RICK ROSS. Now, we can say he defended the list because, at least, he is top 5 on the list, or he had some reason for his comment, i don't know. Let's check out what he had to say;

"I don't speak on nobody that ain't on the list," Ross jokingly said. "It's called 'Get Like Me' at this point, you feel me? At the end of the day, those are people's opinions and I respect MTV's opinions. I respect those brothers over there, you know what I'm saying because I've seen 'em in the streets. If it was some motherf*ckers I never seen at these venues watching the performances, watching what's going on, I may not be able to respect it but I see [panelists] Shaheem Reid, I see Buttahman, they visible to me. When I see 'em, it's [respect] and as far as the list goes, I'm honored to be mentioned. And it is what it is and to me, I feel like the only spot that counts on the list is number one. Second means you were the first to lose. So as far as Jay-Z being number one, I totally concur, that's one of my white words. I totally agree with that because Jay-Z done influenced so many of the artists on that list. Signing Rick Ross to Def Jam, signing Kanye West to Def Jam, influencing Lil Wayne, co-signing Drake and the list goes on, so most definitely you gotta tip your hat off to Jay-Z." (SOHH)

That's that, you heard my opinion, you read the opinion of the other rappers, it's left to you to consider if the people that put up the list can be justified or not.

GAME ON THE TRIPPLE C'S ALBUM.

Compton rapper, GAME, is featured on the TRIPLLE C'S album, a group put together by RICK ROSS, and they just short a video for one of the singles off the album. i guess game is trying to gain some buzz before his album drops in december. I wish him luck with promotion for the album, and i think it's a good move, working with ross and his click, some good exposure.

This is what he had to say about it:

"They my homies and I just ride with my homies, that's just what I do," Game said about Ross' crew. "So Rick Ross out here doing his thing, he's out here in L.A. -- everybody cool out here, I keep it all the way one hundred. I respect the streets and the streets respect me, it's mutual but it's a love thing. It's L.A., it's where I'm from, Compton, California, Los Angeles county. We just keep it one hundred all the way around the board and that's how you maintain your hood sh*t." (Urban Spin)

NEWS ON GAME'S RED ALBUM.

A couple of days ago, California rapper, GAME, gave some info concerning his 4th album, THE RED ALBUM, which he has been working on for a while now. He said JIMMY IOVINE said he should wrap up the production in the next 30 days. When i heard that, i knew game would go to work immediately. Not that he had not been working before, because duo producer's, COOL AND DRE, already shared there experience of how game voiced over about half a dozen songs they had prepared for him in one night, so we know game is hardworking, but being giving a dead-line would only make him work faster and better.

I definitely can't wait for his album to drop; name dropper or not, JAY-Z fan or not, GAME in one hell of a rapper. And i think this album is going to come out very dope, because it's like he keeps getting better with each album. Please people, forget album sales, and just try and listen to an album before you judge it. I am not saaying he is going to sell 2 million copies, he might just sell a total of 500,000 copies in the end, but when it comes to good production back by dope lyrics, then you know game got it.

Dubcnn have some info concerning the album;

First off, note that the correct reference to his name is now Game, it is no longer The Game. As for the album, the release date is currently set for December 8, but there is a chance that it may slip by one week. You can expect the first street single from the album as early as next week. The track is called "Crazy" and features Gucci Mane with production by Timbaland. The first mainstream single from the album will be serviced next week also. It is entitled "L.A. Girl" and features Chris Brown. The track was produced by Pharrell. Other guest appearances on the album include Akon, Diddy, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Beanie Sigel. The rest of the production was handled by Akon, Pollow da Don, Cool & Dre and DJ Khalil.

The only disappointment i have is the fact that he didn't work with NAS on this album. They had worked together on their individual last two albums, and i thought it would continue with this one. Anyway, i think the album is going to be dope; with production form cool n dre, and polow da don, and dj khalil? I don't think he can go wrong. I put the album being pushed back till about a week to christmas.

A LOOK AT THE CHARTS.

Yeah! I don't give you the billboard top 10 rap albums again, because billboard doesn't publish that anymore, but i does not mean i can not still tell you how your favorite rappers are doing on the charts.

Your man JAY-Z is still doing good on the charts with his 11th album, BLUEPRINT 3, and he has already gone platinum. And he is still waxing strong on the charts. This week he moves 55,000 copies, bringing his total to 1,116,000 copies.

Ghostface is not doing to well on the charts, this is his second week on the charts with his "ghostdini; the wizard of poetry in emerald city", he moves 4,600 this week, bringing his total sales to just 31,000 copies.

Fat joe's J.O.S.E 2 is a very dissapointing album, commercially, for the artist, as he has just moved a total of 11k in two weeks. He moved 8,300 in his first week, and 2,900 in his second week.

T.I' paper trail album managed to find it's way back to the charts, and moves 2,900 copies this week, bringing the total to 2,023,000 copies sold so far.

50 CENT ON GAME AGAIN.

50 CENT is at it again, you can’t expect less from him any time he is about to drop a new album. But I think going at a THE GAME again, is really not a good option. 50 cent recently made some negative comments about Compton rapper, game, in an interview, bringing up the past and talking about “the game” G-UNOT campaign and saying he did not get what game was trying to do with the whole movement. He then further talks about games alleged stripper past, and also claims that game was actually stripping for his mom’s strip club, how funny is that.

I think when 50 found out that the moment he has dreaded all this while had come, and his album was really going to drop, after he had been pushing the release date forward for the last 10 months or so, he thought he had to do something to gain some last minute buzz. Also, the fact that he would be going against RIHANNA and KONVICT MUSIC sign –on, LADY GAGA, on his November 23 release date he knew that he had to do something fast to save face. He even dissed LIL WAYNE about two months ago, but wayne was smart enough to ignore him. Then he, out of no where, brought back his beef with FAT JOE, mocking the first week sales of joe’s latest album (J.O.S.E 2).

After I heard that DR DRE had called up game to guest appear on his long awaited album, DETOX, I knew 50 cent would start catching feelings. I guess it is clear to all the people that game is a talented artist now, because people were always writing him off after the publicized beef with 50. They kept saying 50 wrote all his songs, and made him who he was. Okay, I agree that 50 wrote the hooks for the main hits on documentary, but it would not have translated to a hit album if game was not a terrific rapper. And I guess the good doc knows this and had to get him on his album. And it’s funny that it was after snoop, dre and STAT QUO had been in the studio for months recording, and they just felt there was something missing, and snoop talked dre into calling game to add his flavour to the album.

I can’t really say if game would reply to 50’s recent comments, and I do not know if I want him to respond or not. I kind of wonder what would be the outcome of all this, because I know that dre and 50 are still cool, and snoop is cool with 50, but the fact that snoop and dre are in the studio everyday with 50’s enemy, I hope 50 can stand that And i wonder if they would run into each other one day at the studio. I actually thought he was going to squash the beef with game, after game got back with dre, but I guess he is still jealous. He kind of wished game would not make it this far. He thought that game would be washed up after the second album. Hell, he didn’t even believe the album would go platinum.

I can actually say 50 has been watching game’s career, and praying for him to flop at every drop of a new album. I remember in 2006, when game dropped his second album, THE DOCTOR’S ADVOCATE, 50 kept following the sales. There was a time game’s sales reached 800k copies, and the sales slowed, and then every other interview, 50 would mock game and talk about how he sold so much when he helped him, and how now he could not go plat. Then the album managed to reach 900k copies, and 50 knew exactly how many copies the album had sold, because he was quoting the sales in every interview. Then game dropped the video for “wouldn’t get far”, with KANYE WEST, and the single boosted the album to platinum status (1 million copies), and I never heard anything from 50 again.

Let us forget sales, game has shown massive improvement since his first album, and he would keep on growing and dropping dope music. Yes he might be bi-polar, yes he might be a name dropper, but you just can’t deny the fact that the kid is nice on the mic.

CORMEGA COMMENTS ON DRAKE.

I read an interview of queens rapper, CORMEGA, where he was asked what he felt about DRAKE., and he said he didn't like the fact that drake is/was a rich kid just taking rap as a hobby. He said he does not like the idea of someone who already had money, and never went through any hardship before getting a deal, or didn't see rap as a way out like other hood rappers, but just as a fun thing to do.

Now, if i may buttress more on what cormega was trying to say, he was trying to say that drake talks all the tough guy lyrics in some of his songs(not all), but never really had it that bad. Hell, drake was acting(since 2001) in a tv show for about 8 years before the rap thing. So he was already caked up, and had a lot of money to throw around.

Although i do not fully agree with cormega, i can ride with him on some of the issues he is trying to pass across, and i feel his pain. I do believe drake is talented with the word-play, and he does have crazy punch lines to go with nice stories, but you can not deny the fact that he got a lot of backing from top shorts at record labels. There were a lot of favors from radio stations, playing his songs constantly, and also the media putting his name out there, and a lot of boost from LIL WAYNE, and all that. As NAS said, he was a breath of fresh air, and people always need that new "ish". So when the top shorts heard him, it was only a matter of time before he got signed.

I think the era we are in now, gives little or no recognition to the real talented street rappers, or the old school rappers, that have kept to the tradition of old hip hop, when it was not about the gimmicks. There was a time when it was about how nice you were on the mic, that is what got a lot of the 90's rappers signed; rappers like MOBB DEEP, TUPAC, JAY-Z, NAS, BIGGIE, BIG PUN, AZ, and so on. These rappers could actually rock a crowd with their freestyles on the streets. When you do not have any hot beats to back you up, and you do not have any catchy hook, and you had to impress your listeners by what you were actually saying, by spitting punchlines, and intellectual rhymes, rhymes that would live people in awe, that is the time in which cormega belonged.

And now, even the street rappers that do get buzz, and get signed, are the ones that are not to intelligent. The ones that just talk about their street experience, and because everybody likes to hear violent/gangster stories they buy into them. But the average AFRICAN AMERICAN should be off that by now. We should not keep portraying ourselves as project niggas, that kill each other and spend all their money on what the white man makes, from the cars, to the big chains, to watches(get the white man richer)......and then, get broke before the second album drops. I can remember a nas song where he says "real millionaires spend millions on paintings"(assets). He also said he was guilty of that kind of black man mentality in the past, and regrets his actions now. Why spend your money on "liabilities", when you can buy into "assets"

I do not think hip hop is dead, i just think it has evolved. I was a teenager when all the biggies, and the nas's where blowing up, and that is what was hot, i do not think we can expect that to be the case for ever. What the teenagers of now want to listen to is the drake's, and the lil wayne's, and the kanye's(i love kanye's mujsic by the way), so we should let them enjoy their time. I do believe that drake is a perfect blend though. He is a perfect "sit on the fence" artist. He has the ladies listening, and also people that love rap listen, because you can not deny that the kid can rock the mic to an extent. I kinda prefer listening to his rap verses than wayne's. While wayne pays all the attention to dropping the most metaphors and similes in a verse, drake drops punch line, and metaphors too, but he is actually talking about something as well. Think about it, wayne never really has a subject matter, he just mumbles on and blinds the mind of people with all the similes and metaphors like "I'm in so much ice, they call me skate wayne", and a lot and lot of stuff like that. I think wayne's last good album was CARTER 2, and if you have not heard it, then go get it. He was nice on that "like father like son" album with BABY too, but asides that, he is all about the similes and metaphors now.

Back to drake, he should keep doing what he do, but never ever disrespect the for-runners of this rap game as he rises to the top. He does look like a humble kid though.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE FEMALE RAPPERS.

Yeah, for real, what happened to all the female rappers? What happened to LIL KIM? What happened to FOXY BROWN? what happened to EVE? I remember when that foxy brown album(illnana) has hot on billboard back in 96/97, when she had that song with BLACKSTREET, "get you home". What happened to when kim had "lady's night" on the charts. In the 90's, these ladies could actually compete with the men in the rap game. And they stood there ground. I can't forget eve and all the backing from the whole RUFF RYDERZ camp she had. She was hot back then.

What happened to the 90's, when this female rappers, and others like MISSY could drop albums and people would actually go to the store to buy them. But now, there are no female rappers that can even hold theirs. The old female rappers, are battling to make comebacks, with their albums flopping. And the new rappers like JACKIE O, REMY MA, and maybe LIL MAMA, just ain't holding it down like that. Apart from lil mama that had something for the younger generation,, and had her album doing just okay, i don't think there has been any other female rappers making waves like that again.

I just wish female rappers could hold their's like before, and spit the realness, with some display of sexiness.

RAPPERS MAKING COMEBACKS.

A lot of rappers are trying to make comebacks into the music industry, but the two that readily come to my mind, are DMX and JARULE. Back in the late 90's, this two were selling millions. Even with the beef they had, they still managed to sell millions, individually, without affecting each others fan base with the verbal assaults they shot at each other. And then, all of a sudden, the gradual decline in the sales of their albums started to bother me, and also their record labels. And when you are on a downward turn like that, labels tend to pay less attention to marketing your project, and this makes the case worse. Ja and X went from platinum selling rappers to not even able to go GOLD (500,000 COPIES) rappers.

It was such a shame when they stopped selling, and had to go underground, but i am happy to hear that the two artist have squashed their beef, and they are trying to make a comeback. SWIZZ BEATS said he guarantees that X is back on his grind, and working effortlessly, passionately in the studio. I am happy for that, cos x had not been sober for a while now. He started doing drugs, and almost lost it. I can remember he went to jail for impersonating a federal agent or something like that, and there was a time he stole a car. Why would he want to do stuff like that if he was normal.I am happy to hear the old x is back.

On ja, i think he also has a chance, cos i think he really loves the rap game and wants to come back. I wish him all the best, and i wonder what formula he plans to use. The rap game has changed, and even his old formula was washed up before he left the game. And i think he has to let the 50 cent beef die, and just do his thing. He should just try and focus on making good music. I heard him on the remix of MAFIA MUSIC, and he spat some venom at 50, i think he should channel that energy into making some real good music (beef free).

A couple of other artist have tried coming back, and some have been successful, depending on how you see success, cos it is a relative term. REDMAN and METHODMAN made a comeback collabo after their 99 BLACKOUT album,earlier this year, and they did okay. They debuted at the top 10 on the billboard top 200, and people seemed to love the album. The album's total sales was well over 200k copies, even though it didn't go gold, it was okay for the weak promotion the album got, and also the fact they had not dropped anything as a duo in the last 10 years.

But not every rapper has been lucky with comebacks. COOL G RAP, the rap veteran of the late 80's and early 90's, dropped a comeback album about 2 years ago, and he sold just 900 copies in the first week in stores. I didn't say 900k, i mean 900, not even up to 1000 copies. He had to do an interview on HIPHOPDX.COM, to try and re-establish himself in the eyes of the youths. Trying to tell them who he was back in the days. Although he is your favorite rappers favorite rapper, it does not mean he can give new bread of rap listeners what they consider good rap.

And there are rappers that seemed to have been around for years, through all the era's, and are still doing okay. I think it is easier to have a good selling album, if you have not really gone anywhere through the years, even if you have not infused any of the modern day gimmicks into your music, at least, your name would not be strange to the market. The likes of Nas, Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Styles P, Ghostface killa, LL COOL J...have been in the rap game for more than 14 years now, and can still make an album that people can recognize with.

I don't know if it would work, i mean the rappers trying to make comebacks, and i don't know if that is the best idea for them, or maybe it would be best to just venture into some form of business other than rap, so that what people remember of them as classic would remain like that. I say that because of a rapper like RAKIM, who was the Nas of the 80's, facing his peers like KRS 1, COOL G RAP, and BIG DADDY KANE. I respect his legacy, and a lot of people see him as the god of rap, but if he drops an album, and people consider it wack because of the bad sales it would do, then that would be a stain on his name. Of cos, we all know that Ra would always be a lyrical beast, but that is not what the generation of youngsters that listen to rap now want to listen to. They have their DRAKE, KID CUDI, CHARLES HAMILTON, KANYE WEST, LIL WAYNE...and so on.

It would be great for the old rap listeners, but the rappers themselves should not think they can compete with all the present chart toppers.

FAT JOE AND 50 CENT AGAIN.

I hate it when people say 50 CENT destroyed JARULE's career, JA was already dropping, and it was not like 50 went at him all by himself, he had EMINEM,BUSTA RHYMES, and even the legendary DR DRE going at ja with him. So,i would not completely agree that he solely destroyed ja with those diss records, and gimmicks he had going. And i will also not buy into the idea that 50 was the sole reason for FAT JOE'S J.O.S.E 2, selling so low. It did just 8,300 first week, and people, and all the damn bloggers are saying 50 has killed him. Why didn't 50 kill RICK ROSS, with all the effort he put into destroying him. He only made ricky make one of the best albums of 2009.

Fat joe was having problems with his record label, and didn't get enough publicity for the album. Hell, i am a fan, and i didn't even know he was dropping till like a week to the time. So, it is clear that a lot other people didn't know too. I am not saying he would have sold millions if they did know, he has not been known to sell millions through his career, but i guarantee he would have sold at least more decent than that. All the people that keep saying 50 killed this person or that person, what would you say about somebody that had his first two albums selling over 10 million copies each, then he drops his third album(CURTIS), and he barely sells over a million copies? What would you say about that? Did he kill himself?

Please, let us stop listening to what the crowd think is so, and think for our selves for once. Forget sales, if an album has boring wack songs, then you can say it ain't good, but if you just judge it on sales, without listening, then that's just a shame on you.

TWISTA'S TOP 5 DEAD OR ALIVE.

Check out TWISTA'S top five dead or alive, courtesy, allhiphop.com.

AllHipHop.com: Will you please give me your Top Five Dead or Alive MCs and the reasons why?

Twista: Okay, hold on, let me think about it. [takes a dramatic pause to contemplate his list] With myself or without myself?

AllHipHop.com: Either way, it's your list.

Twista: All five, off top— give me a second—Biggie, Tupac, Rakim, Kool G Rap, and LL.

AllHipHop.com: That's everybody's list. I mean, what made you choose those MCs?

Twista: Because them the greatest of all time to me. When I think about what they did and how they did it.

Kool G Rap

Twista: Just because…[Kool G Rap is Kool G Rap]

The Notorious B.I.G.

Twista: Biggie for his lyricism and the impact he had coming from New York, and [with him] being the king of New York.

Tupac

Twista: Tupac ,for the hold that he had for everybody in the ghetto. You know, just that feeling he had with how he did his music.

LL Cool J

Twista: LL; because, he is still in the game. He can drop a record right now and everybody still going to rock to it. He never really fell off. He can just drop records at will and he still sells from the time he came up to right now.

Looks over to producer Traxsta who's listening to beats streaming from his lap top. Twista asks, “Who else did I say?”

TRAXSTA: Rakim

Twista: Rakim; because, that's just my favorite rapper. Like his rhymes today are still like the coldest lyrics.

Well, that's his list, but i do not know why everybody's list have to be identical. Like everybody just want to ride with the crowd, and not wanting to look like the odd one out. Anyway, a man has go the rights to his opinion.

WHAT'S UP WITH HE GAME.

A couple of weeks ago, THE GAME posted a picture of he, SNOOP, and DR DRE, in the studio working on dre's upcoming album, DETOX, before then, game had been silent for a while. He was on a EUROPEAN tour the most of the summer, during which he also had verbal battle with JAY-Z, but he just went silent after a while. I am happy to be hearing some good news concerning his fourth album, THE RED ALBUM.

GAME said via TWITTER:
"R.E.D album soon, wrapping this mothafucker up in 30 days! JIMMY IOVINE told me to tell ya when this shit drop, merry xmas! BWS/AFTERMATH, and shout out to my new labelmate, DIDDY. Welcome to the ice house homie. Good looking for your contribution on R.E.D. Anybody know a street nigga from L.A that can just rap like a mothafucka??? I'm signing me a nigga today, where you at??? Holla RT!!!"

Now, if game says 30 days, believe it is gonna be 30 days. That nigga is one hardworking son of a bitch when it comes to something he puts his mind at. I can't wait to hear the end result, and i wonder where 50 CENT stands with the new relationship game has with dre. Because i can remember when 50 was the shit, and he said he would not have anything to do with dre if dre ever worked with game. I can't believe game pulled through all those tough times when he was abandoned. I guess that's just proof of how determined he is to make it in the rap game.

Duo producer, COOL N DRE, have been producing for game since his first album, and they had this to say about working with game on his latest project:
"It's a fucking great experience working with 'the game'. To know you have someone that you consider family and the music you guys make goes every time. Every time, it's just a great chemistry. Like 'hate it or love it', it went huge, our first 'number one' record of our career. 'My life' top 10. 'Big dreams', a record that didn't get no push, fucking charted. He's dope, the new album is so retarded. We did some shit, we are going up there this week. We did a couple new records. We are trying to completely produce the whole thing. But you know it's tough, people will step up there and level shit for game. So you know, it's dope because it forces us to step it up...it's dope because he goes in there and writes a fucking classic record. You know what makes game dope? He respects the art form, he loves HIP-HOP so much, like he respects classic records."

I always believe, when you want to know how good a rapper really is, listen to producers they work with. The producers work with them from the creative part of the song, when the song is just an idea, till when it is complete. So the producers know how creative rappers are, and how dope they are. Unless the producer is just another ass kisser, he should be able to give the best judgment on how good a rapper is.

Hearing this from cool n dre just makes me hunger more for the album. I guess he would release the project around winter, around December. I hope NAS would be done with his album too around then and drop it around the same time. They have been doing that for the last 2 albums now. 'doctor's advocate' and 'hip hop is dead' dropped a couple months apart in 2006, and so as 'l.a.x' and 'untitled'. And they featured themselves on the two of their projects. I hope this friendship continues and they do more works together, on their upcoming albums. Two very dope rappers.

J R WRITER ALMOST SHOT DEAD.

Check out what J R WRITER, a DIPLOMAT associate and rapper had to say about his shooting over the weekend;

'I was in front of the studio i been recording out for the past 3 months in the BRONX, when 2 bum ass niggaz step to me and a couple of my dudes with guns. For what? I still have no idea. They looked more like they were going to kill something. None of us was strapped. We actually thought we were in a low spot in the BX. On top of that, we been coming there for the past three months with no problems working on my album and new mixtape. When we saw the look on his face and heard him say "now what, what now?" It sounded more like beef than anything else. So we got up out of there. That's when he let off 2 shots our way, which, one of the shots hit me and i dropped. He then starting shooting at my peoples and running towards them. When i saw that, i was gonna play dead, but i said "hell no" and picked myself up and got across the street where my nigga plat was running back towards my way. The shooter looks back and see's me limping across the street with my nigga plat and starts running towards us like he was going to finish me off till he heard police sirens and ran off.
I am doing okay now, just trying to recover. The doctor says i was lucky the shot didn't hit any major artery or bones. It went through the back of my thigh and exited through the front. It was a .45, so that would of really fucked me up.'

I shook my head when i read this story. How can someone just feel he has the power to take another human beings life, just like that. I know must rappers rap about getting shot at, shooting back, shooting up someone and stuff like that, but when it comes to reality, it just does not make sense.

I kind of find it difficult to accept people carrying guns. If you are walking around with a gun, you would one day get tempted to use it. And if you use it and hit your target, then you just ended a person's life. Whether that person was a good individual or bad, the dead man's blood is on your head. It's just hard for me to think that, by just pulling the trigger, you could end a person's life. That means you do not have to be a gangster to kill someone. That means I, a skinner ass dude, could walk up to someone like JAY-Z in the streets, and POW! He is gone. Wow!

I am from AFRICA and still in NIGERIA right now, and if we have differences, we settle it with the fist. Forget the knife or the gun, or the bottle, only cowards use that here. After the fight, the loser can even get up and shake the winner, and that's that, respect would be established between the two, and they would have settled their differences.

Why would you just want to pull a trigger, and end all the fun. I am not even going to touch on black on black crime, cos even the Caucasians do kill themselves, but it is always for a solid reason, like business or something. And it is always around the top echelon of the society. In the case of J WRITER, it could be that the shooter had been watching them, and was envious of the fact that they were super stars, or that they looked good all the time. It could even be about something J writer and his crew members said at one time or the other, that offended him, and they didn't count it as anything. I just wish all this senseless killing and near death experiences can stop.

RAPPER, SHYNE'S FATE.

Shyne, former BAD BOY rapper, was released from jail last week, after serving 9 years in prision for gun a charges, concerning a night club shooting. The incidence that happened in 1999, which also had his boss, P.DIDDY, and JENIFER LOPEZ present. Right now, he is facing deportation and is being held at a detention center. Shyne is originally from BELIZE, and came to the U.S when he was 7, but has since then, gotten an AMERICAN green card.

I wish him all the best in getting good lawyer's to beat the case. But on related stories, he is rumored to be signed to rapper, GAME'S, BLACK WALL STREET label, in partnership with CZAR ENTERTAINMENT.. I think that would do good for his career right now. But i do not understand what is going on withhim and diddy, i thought it was all love.

Read below:

Two years after budding MC Shyne was sentenced to a decade in prison for the 1999 New York nightclub shooting that seriously injured two victims, he was dropped from Bad Boy by the man who escaped a guilty verdict in the case: Sean Combs. Shyne has since spoken out against Diddy, saying his former mentor betrayed him during the trial by hiring lawyers who didn’t work to their full potential and supporting the testimony of witnesses Shyne believes weren’t telling the truth (Diddy has denied these claims).

So when the Daily News quoted Diddy as recently telling Hot 97 he had spoken to Shyne who was “in good spirits,” the now 30-year-old rapper was shocked. “I want it known that this supposed conversation is a figment of Sean Combs’ imagination,” he says in a statement. “He never spoke with me, he never visited me nor would I ever accept a phone call or visit from him. The only way I would do either of those things would be if he stepped up and did the right thing for the victims of the incident.”

A $130 million civil lawsuit filed by victim Natania Reuben against Combs and Shyne is still pending in Brooklyn, New York. Shyne has maintained that he only fired a gun in Club New York on December 27, 1999 in self-defense after his crew (which included Diddy’s then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez) were involved in an altercation with a man named Matthew “Scar” Allen. Shyne didn’t take the stand during his trial, and served eight years for assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession. “I never meant to hurt nobody — I was afraid for my life,” Shyne said at his sentencing in 2001. He has since changed his name to Moses Levi and remains in custody as officials decide whether he will be deported to Belize, where his father is the prime minister.

HAS 50 CENT FINALLY CRACKED THE WINNING FORMULAR.

For several months now, 50 CENT has been trying to get enough buzz to get out his 4th album 'BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT'. He dropped a single sometime last year, 'GET UP', but could not gather enough buzz to drop the album. Then he went on his dis-oriented formular, by going at T.I, LIL WAYNE, e.t.c. That didn't work, so he did the opposite and started making peace with his former rivals like, JOE BUDDEN, JADAKISS, STYLES P, SHEEK LOUCH, DIPSET CREW...

I kind of respect him for swallowing his pride, and realizing he really needed to keep it positive with his NEW YORK rap brethrens. But it's his latest single with NEYO, 'have a baby by me'. I am not a big 50 cent fan, but this song is a sure banger. The beat is banging; the hook he does before neyo's chorus comes on is on point, and neyo's chorus is the icing on the cake.

I hope this attempt would help get him more acceptance, because it sure ain't as rosy for 50 as it used to be. His album is set to drop sometime this month.

WHAT'S UP WITH NAS?

A lot of people have been asking me what's up with NAS. When is his new album dropping? I don't really know, cos nas is in a bad state, emotionally, right now, as KELIS put his business in the media, and told the world that nas had not been a good husband, or that nas had all this money, and stuff like that. And you know nas is one to keep his personal life away from the media. I read on sohh.com, where he talks about how all the publicity is affecting what he wants to record on the nextalbum.

He is meant to drop a collabo album he recorded with DARMIEN MARLEY(DISTANT RELATIVES), before the end of the year. But right now, people are more concerned with his 10th album, and third album to be dropping since he joined defjam a couple of years ago. There has not been any talks about what the theme of the album would be or if it would have any particular theme. His last two albums, "untitled", and "hiphop is dead" where albums with themes. So people are thinking nas would come up with another theme album, but they just can't think of what nas would want to talk about right now.

Right now, i just want to hear some new nas. I feel he should just take his time, and make songs that deal with the present state of the world.

Till this day, there has dnot been any hint of nas having recorded, or started recordings on the album.

50 CENT ON FABOLOUS'S TWITTER COMMENT.

I follow FABOLOUS on twitter, and i read the comments he made about 50CENT, through monday and tuesday, concerning 50 reaching out to his past enemies, like JADAKISS, STYLES P, SHEEK LOUCH, JOE BUDDEN, and a couple of other artist. Now, i am not going to take sides, but i would have to tell you that fab does a lot of talking on twitter, and there are somethings i find him talking about, and i wonder if he is the same fab the rapper that i listen to. Like when he started commenting on the T-PAIN/JAY-Z issue, that got me really pissed, cos i am like "mind your fucking bussiness men!"

Anyway, he made some remarks about 50's past that i feel are true, but 50 said he actually thought fab was a friend,so for him to shit on him on twitter, was a real shocker.
Below are some of what fab said on twitter:

Its interesting to c 50 Cent unite wit NY artists when he's 1 of the reasons NY hip hop became so isolated & crumbled..Do u agree NY??," Fab wrote Tuesday (October 6) morning. "I wonder if this is a law in the 50th law of power book?? I guess it was a good show 4 NY.. But if u asked 50 a few years ago if he ever saw hisself on stage with any of them he woulda said H*LL NO! Still 2 this day, 1 of the illest things i saw..Was 1 year a stadium full of fans screamin 4 Ja Rule, the next year sh*ttin on him 4 50 cent At 50's peak his grind was unmatched, image was bulletproof, music was ignorantly motivational & catchy, even classic. most never hav that So dont think im takin shots at 50.. Jus that NY show had me a lil puzzled.. But i love NY so i couldnt knock it if i wanted to." (Fabolous' Twitter)

Now, reading that, you know fab is 100 percent correct, but listen to what 50 had to say before you make your judgment:

"Reading what Fab said about me on Twitter was disappointing," Fif wrote. "I have extended myself to Fab personally to allow him to expand himself as an international Touring Artist. I thought we were Friends but that's cool. Law #2: Never put too much trust in friends. Learn how to use enemies. Be wary of friends--they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them. --50th Law of Power. Am I 50 Cent or Am I Machiavelli? D*mmmm!!! (This Is 50)

I kind of feel what 50 said right there. Trust me, i am not a 50 fan, infact, after get rich or die trying, i stopped listening to him, because he got cocky, and the fire was gone, but he is making some points there with the "enemies", and "friends" issue.

MARK CURRAY EXPOSES P.DIDDY.

MARK CURRAY, former BAD BOY artist, from 1997-2005, has some things to say about P.DIDDY'S unethical work ethics for a while now. He even wrote a book titled DANCING WITH THE DEVIL, talking about all the unholy deeds of puff to artist on his label.

I see puff as a business man, as an entrepreneur, a capitalist, so i guess puff was just doing business. At lest a contract was signed before you went into the agreement. I think all these artist are just so excited to get a deal, and they do not know what they are worth, until puff starts to market them, and he makes million's off them, and gives them what is stipulated in their contract, but they see howmuch their albums have sold and believe they should get more than they are getting.

Mark curray did some ghost writing for puff from back in the day, and featured on a couple of bad boy songs, but i doubt he ever got to drop an album. I bet a lot of people do not even know who he is and have probably never heard of him. Below are some of his words concerning bad boy ceo, p.diddy;

"biggie was already on his way out the door. And i just remember the stories of when big would need money from puff...and they would be doing a show and biggie would not show up to the show until ten minutes before the show, and puff would be like 'where is he at, where is he at?' and that's where he would be his leverage. Like, biggie knew that puff needed him. If you break it down and look at the situation for what it truly is, biggie smalls made bad boy, bad boy is biggie smalls. A person like MASE that comes to puff and wants a record deal, automatically is willing to do anything he is gotta to do because he asked him for a record deal. So you gotta look at it like, you are willing to sell your sould for that shit right here'

Wow! That's some deep words. He has more to say below;

"i think the only person, man, that came away and worked off with a liltle bit of money is mase...so we can't say he is not doing nothing. As far as any other artist, if you can tell me another bad boy artist that is doing good, i would listen to you, other than that, i can't waste my time trying to think, cos i don't think there is one that exist."

Below are some lines from curry's new book, dancing with the devil, talking of diddy's work ethics;

"even worse, puff charged the artist for his appearances on their records and in the videos, usually without their realizing it until they received their royalty statements. That's when they realize that a large sum of their money had gone to fees which were doubled, trippled and even quadrupled because of puff...for example, for having his BENTLEY in their videos...which he insisted upon...then took a tax credit for the business use of the car"

Wow, puffy is one mean business man. But i guess he feels he has to get that money he has invested in the artist back, in the most legit way he can.
