Rick Ross Talks Genesis of 50cent Beef

The better part of 2009 was Rick Ross going at 50, and 50 making funny videos to address the beef, and letting Lloyd Banks handle the real lyrical war. If you ask me, i would say Rick Ross won the war. Anyway, Rick Ross recently addressed the issue, and give his reason for going at 50cent first.

Read below-
"It boiled down to what really was going on. It wasn't nothing at the time that was personal against 50 Cent, but he was attacking people, and began attacking people closer and closer to me, to a point where I had to make a decision. I felt I was gonna be next on that list. So I took the offensive." (RESPECT)
"N*ggas gotta study history. The mob bosses always get whacked at the end. Sometimes by someone of lesser value, of lesser importance, you feel me? So, on that note, you gotta understand there's always n*ggas that's willing to make that sacrifice on some real sh*t. When you really step out there, and you want to get into some sh*t, you've got to be on your A-game. My goal is to deliver hit records. But don't get it mistaken, we are the muscle--we are the muscle." (RESPECT)

Hmm! I think i understand why he had to make that move...kill or be killed. But i have to give it to ricky though, as his career has blown up since after that. He has dropped two albums after the beef, Deeper Than Rap & Teflon Don, which have been fantastic albums. And the move he made with signing WALE is just wonderful, even with just wale, i think he has a stronger Camp.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Lasers [Explicit]No new rap album this week, so lupe fiasco is still untop with his lasers album. He moved 29,000 copies this week, bringing the total to 280,000 copies sold so far. Gucci is up next with his latest mixtape, Return of Zone 6. I don't understand how this guy keep dropping, whether it is EP, or mixtape, or album, like every 6 months. Although he don't sell massive units, but the cumulative sales must add up to something. His latest mixtape sold 25,000 copies in its first week. That is how many copies some people's albums sell.
The Return Of Mr. Zone 6 [Explicit]
Kanye West is still on the charts with his 5th album, My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy. He sold 10,000 copies this week, bringing his over all total to 1,095,000. I was really thinking the song with Rihanna, ALL OF THE LIGHTS, would have a heavy buzz and give the album a boost, but i think i guessed wrong.

Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being EP is still selling, and i am wondering why this album is still selling- who is buying it? I have had it in my store for so long, it is gathering dust...in fact i am ready to give it out to the next person that comes in. I am just kidding. But seriously, i am really surprised that it is still selling. Anyway, its sold 9,800 copies this week, bringing the total to 827,000 copies sold so far.

Pharoahe Monch just dropped a new album, W.A.R (We Are Renegades), which sold 9,700 copies after a week in stores. Raekwon's Shaolin vs Wu-Tang album album sold 6,500 copies this week, bringing the total to 45,000 sold.

Game and R.E.D Album

I was listening to one of game's tracks that hit the internet the other day; Rough, featuring Yelawolf, and there was a part he was like- Detox, Red/M.C's Dead; referring to both his and Dr Dre's up coming releases. H e kinda meant that mc's would have there burials after he and the good doc dropped. I think i might agree with him, because most of the rappers are just sounding the same at this point, or they are kinda not creative enough, and from what i have heard from game so far, i think his album is going to get a lot of attention.

What i just want to know at this point is when is it dropping? Come on! Game, you need to drop that album A.S.A.P. He already has a single, RED NATION, with Lil Wayne that is getting radio airplay, so i do not know what he is waiting for. He needs to shoot the video pronto, and get a release date for the album, so he can start building up anticipation.

Below is what he had to say about the album-
"The 'R.E.D.' album is going to remind everybody of what hip-hop is supposed to be in its prime," says Game. "The 'R.E.D.' album will be the best album this year hands down. There's nobody putting out an album this year that will even be able to compete with the skill level-- the bar is gonna be set after this album drops. I guarantee it now from start to finish." (Billboard)

Hmm! I like this...but, as i said earlier, what is he waiting for?

Rick Ross Busted for Marijuana Possession

Rick Ross, the boss of Maybach Music was busted for marijuana possession over the weekend, but was released after a couple of hours. The police found just a gram of marijuana in his possession.

Big night for the coppers down in Shreveport, LA -- rapper Rick Ross and Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Peters were both arrested last night in separate incidents. First, let's talk about Ross -- according to police, he was busted last night for possession of marijuana. Cops say they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from his hotel room and when police investigated, they spotted approximately a gram of it in plain view. (TMZ)

That's how i got the story off sohh.com. What do i have to say about this? What the hell is a gram of marijuana...why should that be a big offense? It was probably be for personal use. And what were the cops doing by his hotel door? Where they patrolling the whole hotel corridor or something? This is just absurd to me. I mean, a lot of people die of overdosing on Cocaine, and you are tripping over someone smoking a herb? Common! Artist have been known to use one form of stimulant or the other since the time of Elvis Presly, and weed is not even addictive like them other drugs. Unless they were trying to get him on something else, i do not see the necessity in this bust.

Facts About Jay-Z

I was surfing through the net and i came across this information  about jay-z on hiphopdx.com, and i thought it would be interesting for people to know some things they do not know about him. I have always respected jay for his business acumen, and as an entrepreneur myself, who believes anything is possible, i like to study his past, ans the mindset he had while coming up.

Read top ten facts that hiphopdx.com got from a newly released book about jay-z, titled- "empire state of mind".

This month, Forbes' Zack O'Malley Greenburg released his book Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner To Corner Office. The biography of Shawn Carter looks at Jay's personal and business relationships, through comprehsive archival interviews and new and rare insights from the likes of mentor Jaz-O, paternal hustler DeHaven, Dame Dash, MC Serch, DJ Clark Kent, Branson and others.

The staff of HipHopDX thought we knew a lot about Jay-Z, but in the interest of supporting Hip Hop literacy, we thought we would share 10 things about Jay-Z from Empire State of Mind.

1. Jay-Z maintains that his name comes from a childhood family nickname of "jazzy," not the popular belief that it was taken to match mentor Jaz-O's name, or the J and Z train lines that stop at the Marcy station in Brooklyn.

2. Sauce Money, often mistakenly considered a Roc-A-Fella Records artist, was a collaborator suggested by DJ Clark Kent to try and get demo recognition. Additionally, Sauce was managed by then-NBA star Dennis Scott. Jay and Sauce would appear together on Big Daddy Kane's Daddy's Home album, a time in Jay's career that Empire State of Mind sheds new light on.

3. Jay-Z would have likely been murdered during a 1994 shooting - if the assailants gun did not jam. Both DeHaven and Jaz-O, Jay's then-musical and street guides, recall the event. One of them alludes to 'making that problem go away' too.

4. During his Def Jam presidency, Jay-Z helped collaborators The Roots clear a Radiohead sample, just hours before the clearance had to be made. Jay accomplished this through his direct relationship with the British band.

5. Jay-Z never forgets. The book interviews producer A Kid Called Roots, who's known for his work with artists ranging from Memphis Bleek to Sha Stimuli. AKCR provides an anecdote claiming that during a Japanese performance, Jay recognized the Roc-affiliated producer in the crowd, and invited him to the stage for his then-hit, "Do My..."

6. Champagne wishes. Although it's never formally said, Empire State of Mind suggests a number of interesting things about Jay-Z's switch from musically-endorsing Cristal to Ace of Spades. The chapter includes revelations that longtime friend, collaborator and mid-'00s Island Def Jam executive Jermaine Dupri had a business relationship with the same people responsible for Ace of Spades, although Jay-Z has always maintained that there are no business ties to Armand De Brignac, Ace of Spades' producer.

7. Jay-Z invested in Carol's Daughter, a cosmetics line. While we hear about various Jay backings, this one slipped under the Hip Hop radar.

8. Jason Kidd was the first person that suggested to Jay-Z that he explore New Jersey Nets ownership. Count it.

9. MC Serch of 3rd Bass fame was responsible for making "the Jay-Z Jeep" nearly happening. An artistic contemporary of Jay's, Serch presented the idea to both sides, although it never happened - a deal and series of events that the book delves into.Vol. 2, Hard Knock Life

10. Jay-Z is still earning from Roc-A-Wear. Although the brand changed ownership, the book estimates that Jay receives close to $5 million dollars yearly off of the brand that he, Dame Dash, and Kareem Biggs started over a decade ago.

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Lupe Fiasco's LASERS album is still the number 1 rap album on the charts, but is no longer the number one album over-all on the top 200 album charts. The album dropped 75% in sales, and sold 47,000 copies this week, bringing the total after 2 weeks in stores to 251,000 copies. I think that is still looking good, considering the fact that that is half way to gold status, and a lot of rappers nowadays don't even sell that much their entire album sales.
Lasers [Explicit]
Next up is Nicki Minaj's PINK FRIDAY album. She is still popping, still a "burning match" as Lil Kim said, although we don't know how next year or the one after would be for her. But right now, let us celebrate her success. Her debut album sold 25,000 copies this week, and now stands at a grand total of 1,239,000 copies sold.

Recovery from Eminem is up next with 20k sold this week. Eminem's 6th album is now at a total of 3,737,000 copies sold. He is moving towards the 4 million in u.s, but has far surpassed that internationally. He has sold over 7 million copies of the album internationally.
Rehab
My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy, the album from Kanye west sold 11,000 copies this week, and the album sales is now at 1,085,000. Reakwon's new album, Shaolin vs Wu-Tang, sold 9,400 this week, and now at a total of 38,000 copies. Rick Ross has popped back up on the charts and his Teflon Don album sold 4,400 copies this week, and is now at a total of 595,000 sold. And the Christian rapper, Lacre's Rehab album sold 2,600 copies this week, to put him at a total of 87,000 copies sold so far.

Wyclef Got Shot in Haiti

The news out there is that Wyclef Jean, one third of the legendary group, The fugees, got shot in haiti yesterday. I hope he does not have any damaged body parts. The news is that he was shot in the hand, and is now receiving treatment in a hospital. I wonder why anybody would want to kill wyclef...maybe it was a robery, i don't know.

Read more about the story below:
Hip-hop singer Wyclef Jean was recovering Sunday after he was shot in the hand, his publicist said. Spokeswoman Cindy Tanenbaum said Jean, who was in Haiti, was shot in Port-au-Prince on Saturday -- on the eve of the country's presidential runoff vote. The wound was superficial, she said. The singer was taken to a hospital, treated and released. "He is doing well," Tanenbaum said. (CNN)

Ex-Fugees member Pras also provided information on the shooting.Wyclef Jean presents The Carnival featuring Refugee Allstars
"Everyone can relax Wyclef is fine... They can't stop us not one bullet or a machine gun!!!!!!!," he tweeted Saturday.
"Yes they shot Wyclef and he's in the hospital and he'll be fine. They just shot his hand .."
"Mess with me, I'll fight back. Mess with my friends, I'll hurt you. Mess with the ones I love, and they'll never be able to identify you." (Pras' Twitter)

Wyclef's camp updated his condition from social network Twitter and thanked fans for their support.
"We have spoken to Wyclef, he is ok. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers - Managment," his camp tweeted March 20th. (Wyclef Jean's Twitter)

Patience (Sabali) Video, Nas & Damian Marley

Nas and Damian Marley are currently touring Africa, and i am sure that is where they shot the video for this new single off their collabo album (Distant Relatives). The new single is titled Patience, but Sabali in some African language. The track features a pair of blind singers from Mali in Africa- Amadou & Mariam. I was so happy when i found out that they had shot a video to this song, because it is one of my best tracks off the album, and it shows another side of Damian Marley that people do not know.
Distant Relatives [Explicit]
Damian was so politically poetic, and he was actually rapping (kind of), and he took the first two verses. I must say that he even dropped more germs than nas did. Nas came with the last verse, and his delivery was so on point....i think this song is incredible, and the fact that a lot of people are now going to witness the genius the collaboration of this two conscious artist brings about is just wonderful.

Go ahead and and click on that link to watch the video. Patience.

Lupe Fiasco Reacts to Lasers Number 1 Chart Position

It is no longer news that Lupe Fiasco's long awaited LASERS album is finally out, and that it debuted at number 1 on the billboard top 200 albums. That means it is the number one (best selling) album for this week in the country of U.S.A. I think that is a great achievement for any rapper, not to talk of a very conscious rapper. I think he needs to be popping some champagne bottles right now. And tho think this is a person that the label (atlantic records) wasn't paying attention to. They preferred to put their money on B.O.B. No disrespect to bobby ray, but The Adventures of Bobby Ray sold just 80k in its first week, with all the commercial singles he dropped, and lupe's LASERS did 204k first week. Now, who is smiling all the way to the bank? Who is laughing last?

Anyway, read the about Lupe's reaction as told by hiphopdx.com below-

As previously reported, Lupe Fiasco began the week atop the sales charts after selling 204,000 copies of his third album, Lasers. According to Lupe, his doctor has him on vocal rest, so in lieu of an interview, he took to Twitter and responded to the news with a rhyme composed as a series of tweets, writing the following:

“Love got me thru it / Best fans ever made the whole world care / Had 51st & 6th looking like Tahrir Square / Took Gaza Strip's politics / And put them number one and shit / Took the myth that conscious don’t equal commercial / And mothafuckin’ pummeled it / Apologize for dumbing it / But look what has become of it / All Black Everything / Some old white southern woman humming it…”

The Chicago emcee addressed his previous statements about the emotional toll creating the album caused, referring to what seemed to be a thinly veiled reference to suicide on “Beautiful Lasers” by saying, “From the backseats of phantoms I thought of leaving thru suicide doors.”

There were also mentions of the Fiasco Friday protest, a short-lived feud with RapRadar.com and admission that Lupe modified the stance he took on “Dumb It Down” in hopes of repairing his strained relationship with Atlantic records. All told, the bars amounted to a total of nine Twitter messages, including condolences for Nate Dogg and those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

and there it will remain, for atleast another week, right at number 1, hahaha yeah nigguh, stay strong Japan, Nate Dogg REST IN PEACE!!!

Nate Dogg is Dead

I do not like talking on deaths, mainly because of the way people affected by it feel, but, me personally, i think it is a transition to a better place. And if you should look at the state Nate Dogg was in shortly before his death, then you would know that the death served him a good.

Anyway, Nate Dogg is dead, at 41, and he has left us with a lot of good music to remember him for.

Hip Hop suffered another loss late last night, as Long Beach, California news site PressTelegram.com reports that Nathaniel "Nate Dogg" Hale has died at the age of 41.

Although no official cause of death has been announced, the former Death Row alum suffered from two strokes, his most recent one in September 2008.

A number of artists have confirmed Nate's passing via Twitter, including long-time friend and frequent collaborator Snoop Dogg.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Nate Dogg first began singing in Long Beach's New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach and Life Line Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where his father was a pastor. In 1991, he formed a rap trio 213 with friends and fellow LBC residents Warren G and Snoop Dogg. Their demo found its way to Dr. Dre, who then enlisted all three members on his seminal debut The Chronic. Nate eventually signed with west coast powerhouse Death Row Records.

As a solo artist, Nate released three albums, including 1998's G-Funk Classics, Vols. 1 & 2, 2001's Music & Me and his self-titled 2003 release. He also reunited with Snoop Dogg and Warren G as 213 for 2004's The Hard Way. Nate established himself as a staple of west coast Hip Hop in his plethora of guest features, singing on classics like Warren G's "Regulate," Snoop Dogg's "Ain't No Fun" and Dr. Dre's "Xxplosive." He also leant his vocals to a number of charting-topping hits from a wide variety of Hip Hop's elite, including 2Pac, Eminem, Pharoahe Monch, Mos Def, Ludacris, 50 Cent and many more.

HipHopDX would like to extend its deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Nate Dogg

Lupe Fiasco's Lasers is The Top Rap Album on The Billboard Charts

Lupe Fiasco is untop this week with his third album Lasers. The album that took much effort before being released as Atlantic record didn't want to get it out till some 200,000 lupe fans signed a petition against the record label. It is happy to know that those same fans bought the album. The album sold 204,000 copies in its first week. I think that is massive for a conscious rapper like lupe, and for this climate.

Reakwon's new album- Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tand didn't do as well as his last album (onlybuilt4cuban linx2) which sold 160k in its first week. This album managed to move just 29,000 copies after one week.

Nicki Minaj's PINK FRIDAY album sold 25,000 copies this week, and it is now at a grand total of 1,214,000 copies. Eminem sold 22k copies this week of RECOVERY and is now at a total of 3,717,000. 12,000 copies was sold of My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fanasy (kanye west), bringing it to total of 1,074,000 copies. Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being sold 11k this week, which now makes it a total of 807,000 copies sold so far.Shaolin Vs Wu-Tang

Nas Shares His Views on Gaddafi & Also Updates on Lost Tapes2

Nas has been touring the world with Damian Marley on the Distant Relatives tour for more than 16 months now, and his fans can't wait to get something new from him. His lost tapes 2 compilation, which is ready and was meant to drop dec 2010, was not supported by his label, Def Jam, so, it has been stashed back into the vaults.

He is planing to end the global tour in Africa and he shares his views on Libyan leader, Gaddafi.

Read below courtesy of allhiphop.com
Nas is currently on tour with fellow collaborator Damian Marley, trekking through not only the U.S., but also Australia, Japan, Europe, and Africa. In an interview with misformusic.com, Nas said the Distant Relatives jaunt will see a finale in Africa, although the exact locations are not yet clear.

Nas also gave his opinion on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, taking a tone that is not at all popular in Western media. "I never saw Gaddafi as an enemy," he said. "I see him as someone who is misunderstood. I think a revolution in Libya is important and I just hate to see that the people are against him or he has to be against [them]…I just don't like that." He added that U.S. intervention may be a good idea as long as it is intelligent.

The QB rapper also said that he's quite interested in recording another album with Damian Marley, even as his Lost Tapes Vol. 2 has garnered increasing anticipation from fans. Unfortunately, he says changes to the Def Jam label thwarted his plans to release the album in December of 2010. "I kinda got away from [the album] and I started working on my new album," he explained. "…so maybe Lost Tapes later down the road but the new album first. Who knows, I'm trying to figure it out now."

Nas' newest project is as of yet untitled.

Chamillioaire Names His Favorite Rappers Of All Time

It seems everybody be naming their favorite rappers, and Chamillionaire is the latest person to name his.
Read below-

"The usual suspects. Pac. Jay-Z. Eminem. Andre 3000. I gotta count UGK as one person. That would probably be my list. Scarface, Nas & [Lil Wayne] would probably come somewhere next on that list. I know this always debated and people always argue over this stuff but the people I pick are all OG's in the game and are legends to me. I feel like you can't be considered the greatest of all time if you haven't spent a lot of time being on top of the rap game." (Hip Hop N More)
"I like Biggie also and his lyrical ability and wordplay was always ill to me. The only reason I wouldn't rank him as high is because the subject matter of a lot of his music was kinda dark for me at the time. Death and murder always seemed to be a prominent topic when I would listen to his songs but I could never deny that he was one of the greatest. Unfortunately he didn't get to live long enough to complete his musical catalog." (Hip Hop N More)Venom on the Way [Explicit]

I don't know, is it me, or is it a bit disrespectful that he would put Scarface, Nas and Lil Wayne together? Well, it is his choice, and i guess i got no right to criticize.

Lupe Fiasco's Lasers Album Projected to Sell 200k

Over one day sales projections, lupe's third awaited album, "Lasers" is projected to sell over 200k copies in its first week in stores- according to hitsdailydouble.comLupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor [Explicit]

Lupe Fiasco's The Cool [Explicit]His third Atlantic Records studio album, Lasers, will debut at #1 next week with between 220-240k in sales, the second biggest of the year next to Adele and the best start of his career (hitsdailydouble.com)

I think that is huge for lupe and the fact that rappers are not selling as much as this right now. And also, his first album, FOOD AND LIQUOR sold 81k in its first week in stores; while his second album, The Cool sold 143k in its first week, so this is definitely an improvement.

50 cent

50 cent, Curtis Jackson (born July 6 1975), is an American recording artist (rapper) has sold millions of his records worldwide. He first got on the scene in 1999 with his original first album, Power of a Dollar- back when he was signed with Columbia records. After he got shot the next year (may 24 2000), he was dropped by the label.

Read details of the shotting below-
On May 24, 2000, Jackson was attacked by a gunman, alleged to be Darryl "Hommo" Baum, outside his grandmother's former home in South Jamaica, Queens. He went into a friend's car, but was asked to return to the house to get jewelry. His son was in the house, while his grandmother was in the front yard.[11] Upon returning to the back seat of the car, another car pulled up nearby. An assailant then walked up to Jackson's left side with a 9mm handgun and fired nine shots at close range. He was shot nine times: in the hand (a round hit his right thumb and came out of his little finger), arm, hip, both legs, chest, and left cheek.[10][15][31] The face wound resulted in a swollen tongue, the loss of a wisdom tooth, and a small slur in his voice.[14][15][32] His friend also sustained a gunshot wound to the hand. They were driven to the hospital where Jackson spent thirteen days. Baum, the alleged shooter, was killed three weeks later.[33] Baum was also Mike Tyson's close friend and bodyguard.[34]

Jackson recalled the incident saying, "It happens so fast that you don't even get a chance to shoot back.... I was scared the whole time.... I was looking in the rear-view mirror like, 'Oh shit, somebody shot me in the face! It burns, burns, burns.'"[15] In his autobiography, From Pieces to Weight: Once upon a Time in Southside Queens, he wrote, "After I got shot nine times at close range and didn't die, I started to think that I must have a purpose in life... How much more damage could that shell have done? Give me an inch in this direction or that one, and I'm gone".[12] He used a walker for the first six weeks and fully recovered after five months. When he left the hospital, he stayed in the Poconos with his then-girlfriend and son. His workout regime helped him attain his muscular physique.[10][15][35]

While in the hospital, Jackson signed a publishing deal with Columbia Records. However, he was dropped from the label and "blacklisted" in the recording industry because of his song "Ghetto Qu'ran". Unable to find a studio to work with in the U.S, he traveled to Canada.[36][37] Along with his business partner Sha Money XL, he recorded over thirty songs for mixtapes, with the purpose of building a reputation. According to Shady Records A&R Marc Labelle in an interview with HitQuarters, Jackson shrewdly used the mixtape circuit to his own advantage saying, "He took all the hottest beats from every artist and flipped them with better hooks. They then got into all the markets on the mixtapes and all the mixtape DJs were messing with them."[38] Jackson's popularity rose and in 2002, he released material independently on the mixtape, Guess Who's Back?. Beginning to attract interest, and now backed by G-Unit, Jackson continued to release music including 50 Cent Is the Future. The mixtape revisited material by Jay-Z and Raphael Saadiq.

After he got signed to Shady/Aftermath by Eminem and Dr Dre, he released his Classic rap album, GET RICH OR DIE TRYING, which has gone on to sell 11 million copies worldwide. That was in 2003. He followed up two years later with his second album on his new label in 2005, titled The Massacre. The Massacre was also very successful, selling 9 million copies worldwide.

At that point he was getting into a lot of fueds with other rappers- and people believed his career had been based on controversy, as he had come out dissing Jarule on his first album. And on his second album, he dissed Nas, Fat joe and Jadakiss.

BEEF WITH MURDER INC
Before signing with Interscope, Jackson engaged in a well-publicized dispute with rapper Ja Rule and his label The Inc. Records. Jackson claims that a friend robbed Ja Rule of his jewelry and that Ja Rule accused him of setting it up.[89] However, Ja Rule claimed the conflict stemmed from a video shoot in Queens because Jackson did not like seeing him "getting so much love" from the neighborhood.[101] In March 2000, while at The Hit Factory studio in New York, Jackson had an altercation with Murder Inc. associates. He was treated for three stitches after receiving a stab wound.[89][102] Rapper Black Child claimed responsibility for the stabbing, saying he acted in self-defense because he thought someone reached for a gun.[103]

An affidavit by an IRS agent suggested that Murder Inc. had ties to Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, a New York drug lord who was suspected of being involved in the murder of Jam Master Jay and the shooting of Jackson. An excerpt of the affidavit read:
The investigation has uncovered a conspiracy involving McGriff and others to murder a rap artist who has released songs containing lyrics regarding McGriff's criminal activities. The rap artist was shot in 2000, survived and thereafter refused to cooperate with law enforcement regarding the shooting. Messages transmitted over the Murder Inc. pager indicate that McGriff is involved in an ongoing plot to kill this rap artist, and that he communicates with Murder Inc. employees concerning the target.[36]

The exchange of insultive tracks released from both parties culminated into Ja Rule releasing Blood in My Eye, which was an album that mostly insulted Jackson and Eminem. Ja Rule eventually tried to squash the feud with Jackson by using minister Louis Farrakhan in a televised interview. However, the attempt at peace lost credibility as the interview was scheduled a day before Blood in My Eye was released. As a result, most fans, along with Jackson, dismissed the interview as a blatant publicity stunt.

Ja Rule later released R.U.L.E. with the successful single, "New York", featuring Jadakiss and Fat Joe in which Ja Rule took subliminal shots at Jackson. This single prompted Jackson to enter a feud with the two featured artists. The feud died down in late 2004, when Eminem released "Like Toy Soldiers" which explains the recent feuding with Ja Rule and Benzino, to which Eminem ends the song offering a truce to his enemies. Although the feud was later resurrected in early 2005.

BEEF WITH OTHER NEWYORK RAPPERS
Before releasing The Massacre, Jackson recorded a song "Piggy Bank", a response to Ja Rule's song "New York", which was leaked before the album's release. The song takes aim at rappers including Fat Joe, Nas, and Jadakiss.[104] Fat Joe responded with a song, "My Fofo", accusing Jackson of taking steroids, hiding in his home, and being jealous of The Game. Jadakiss also responded with a song, "Checkmate", and said that Jackson was trying to "create a buzz for his new album".[105] The "Piggy Bank" music video portrays animated caricatures of Jadakiss (as a Ninja turtle), Fat Joe (as an overweight boxer who receives a knockout), Nas (as a kid chasing a "milkshake" truck in a Superman costume), and The Game (as Mr. Potato Head). He also disses all of them on the beef version of his single "Window Shopper"[106] Kelis, Nas's wife, responded to the song on her single "Bossy".[citation needed] Nas later responded with "Don't Body Ya Self (MC Burial)." Nas later dissed 50 on the song "Street Ridaz" on Game's mixtape "Brake Lights".

Jackson spoke negatively about Bad Boy Entertainment mogul Sean Combs and recorded a song, "Hip-Hop", revealing the reasons behind his negative feelings: primarily, a contract dispute over Mase. In the song, he implied that Diddy knew about The Notorious B.I.G.'s murder and threatened to expose him through former associates.[107] The feud was resolved, with both rappers appearing on MTV's TRL and Sucker Free, respectively, stating that there were no longer problems.[108] The feud reignited in 2010 with 50 Cent dissing Diddy, saying his music "sucks".

On February 1, 2007, Cam'ron and Jackson had a live argument on The Angie Martinez Show on Hot 97 radio. Jackson commented that Koch Entertainment was a "graveyard", meaning major record labels would not work with their artists.[109] Cam'ron then ridiculed the record sales of G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Mobb Deep by stating that Jim Jones outsold their albums despite being signed to an independent label and that his group, The Diplomats, had a distribution deal from several labels.[109] Both rappers released "diss" songs with videos on YouTube. Jackson suggested in "Funeral Music" that Cam'ron is no longer able to lead The Diplomats and that Jim Jones should take his place. Cam'ron responded with "Curtis" and "Curtis Pt. II", in which he makes fun of Jackson's appearance, calling him "a gorilla, with rabbit teeth".[110] Jackson responded by releasing "Hold On" with Young Buck.

BEEF WITH GAME
Although he was close with The Game, before The Game released his debut album The Documentary, they soon became at odds. After its release, Jackson felt The Game was disloyal for saying he did not want to participate in G-Unit's feuds with other rappers and even wanting to work with artists they were feuding with. He also claimed that he wrote six songs on the album and was not receiving proper credit for his work, which The Game denied.[111] "Not Rich, Still Lyin'"

A track in which he takes aim at The Game.

Jackson later dismissed The Game from G-Unit on Hot 97 radio. After the announcement, The Game, who was a guest earlier in the evening, attempted to enter the building with his entourage. After being denied entry, one of his associates was shot in the leg during a confrontation with a group of men leaving the building.[112][113] When the situation escalated, both rappers held a press conference to announce their reconciliation.[114] Fans had mixed feelings as to whether the rappers created a publicity stunt to boost the sales of the albums they had just released.[115] Nevertheless, even after the situation deflated,[116] G-Unit criticized The Game's street credibility. The group denounced The Game and announced that they will not be featured on his albums. During a Summer Jam performance, The Game launched a boycott of G-Unit called "G-Unot".[117]

After the performance at Summer Jam, The Game responded with "300 Bars and Runnin'", an extended "diss" aimed at G-Unit as well as members of Roc-A-Fella Records on the mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 3. Jackson responded through his "Piggy Bank" music video, which features The Game as a Mr. Potato Head doll and also parodies other rivals.[118] Since then both groups continued to attack each other. The Game released two more mixtapes, Ghost Unit and a mixtape/DVD called Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin.

Jackson posted a cover of The Game's head on the body of a male stripper for "Hate It or Love It (G-Unit Radio Part 21)" mixtape, as a response to The Game displaying pictures of G-Unit dressed as Village People.[119] Although he was signed to Aftermath Entertainment, The Game left the label and signed with Geffen Records to terminate his contractual obligations with G-Unit (although others claim Jackson pressured Dr. Dre to kick him off).[120] G-Unit member Spider Loc had also began to insult The Game on various songs. In addition, The Game released "240 Bars (Spider Joke)" and "100 Bars (The Funeral)" both attacking G-Unit, Spider Loc and others. Jackson's response was "Not Rich, Still Lyin'" where he mocks The Game.[121] Lloyd Banks replied to the Game on a Rap City freestyle booth session. The Game quickly released a "diss" record called "SoundScan" where The Game pokes fun at Lloyd Banks' album Rotten Apple falling thirteen spots on the Billboard 200 chart and disappointing second week sales. Lloyd Banks replied on his mixtape Mo' Money In The Bank Pt. 5: Gang Green Season Continues with a song called "Showtime (The Game's Over)". Lloyd Banks states that Jackson wrote half of The Game's first album The Documentary and pokes fun at The Game's suicidal thoughts.

In October 2006, The Game extended a peace treaty to Jackson, which was not immediately replied to.[122] However, a couple days later, on Power 106, he stated that the treaty was only offered for one day.[123] On The Game's album, Doctor's Advocate, he claims that the feud is over on a few of the songs.

In July 2009, The Game stated the beef was squashed with help from Michael Jackson and Diddy,[124] and he apologized for his actions during the beef.[125] Tony Yayo said that neither Jackson or G-Unit would accept his apology.[126] Since then, The Game continued his old "G-Unot" ways at live concerts. Jackson released "So Disrespectful" a diss song on Before I Self Destruct targeting Jay-Z, The Game and Young Buck.[127] Game later responded with the song "Shake", poking fun of the music video for 50's single "Candy Shop", quote, "Me and 50 aint agreeing on shit so I had to (Shake) Aint no telling what he putting in that protein (Shake) Seen the candy shop video look at this nigga (Shake) And thats the same shit that made the nigga Young Buck (Shake)". He also takes shots at Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, in which he says, "I'm surprised that Lloyd Banks and Yayo didn't (Shake) Wasn't selling no records Jimmy Iovine said (Shake)". Game also dissed G-Unit several times on the song "400 Bars".

BEEF WITH RICK ROSS (most recent)
In January 2009, Rick Ross started a feud with 50 Cent because he supposedly looked at him the wrong way at the BET Awards. However, Jackson told news sources that he did not even remember seeing Rick Ross there.[128] In late January, a track entitled "Mafia Music" by Rick Ross, leaked onto the Internet. There were several lines that seem to diss Jackson. Days later, Jackson released "Officer Ricky (Go Head, Try Me)" in response to Rick Ross's disparaging remarks on his "Mafia Music" song. The next day Rick Ross appeared on Shade 45, and told Jackson to come up with something better in 24 hours.

Before going to Venezuela, Jackson uploaded a video entitled "Warning Shot", where he warns Rick Ross: "I'ma fuck your life up for fun". In addition, Jackson released the first of a series of "Officer Ricky" cartoons. Early February, Jackson once again made a video which he uploaded to YouTube where he interviews "Tia",Get Rich Or Die Tryin' [Explicit] the mother of one of Rick Ross's children. She verifies his being a correctional officer and claims his whole persona is fake and fraudulent.[129] On Thursday, February 5, 2009, The Game, who Jackson has a long-standing "beef" with, called up Seattle's KUBE 93 Radio Station. When asked about the beef between Jackson and Rick Ross, The Game sided with Jackson and said that things are not looking good for Rick Ross. However, he offered to help Rick Ross get out of this situation, stating "Rick Ross, holla at your boy, man," and "50 eating you, boy."[130]

On his album Deeper Than Rap, Ross references Jackson in the song "In Cold Blood". A video for the song was released that portrayed Jackson's mock funeral. Upon release, Ross stated that he has ended Jackson's career.[131]

In an interview, Jackson said: "Rick Ross is Albert From CB4. You ever seen the movie? He's Albert," he added. "It never gets worse than this. You get a guy that was a correctional officer come out and base his entire career on writing material from a drug dealer's perspective such as "Freeway" Ricky Ross.

RECENT ALBUMS
He has released two other albums- Curtis in 2007, and BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT in 2009. Bothe the albums didn't match the success of his previous albums. Before I self Destruct managed to sell just 500,000 copies in the U.S.

Making News Recently (Remarks On Japan Tsunami)
He has been search on the internet recently because of his remarks on Japan on his twitter page-
"Its all good Till b*tches see there christian louboutins floating down da street shit gone get crazy.," 50Curtis [Explicit] tweeted Friday (March 11).
"Wave will hit 8am them crazy white boys gonna try to go surfing."
"Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my h*e's from LA,Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol" (50 Cent's Twitter)

Despite his initial humor, 50 later reminded fans about the disaster's seriousness.
"Nah this is nuts but what can anyone do about it. Let's pray for anyone who has lost someone," he tweeted.
"Some of my tweets are ignorant I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it. I'm cool either way 50cent" (50 Cent's Twitter)

Forbes List Hip-Hop's Richest

This list, although not complete, is kind of shocking. I mean, like 50 cent was worth like 400 million about 3 years ago, and now he is almost not on the list. So what happened to all that "Vitamin Water" money?

Read more about that below-
For years now Sean Combs and Shawn Carter have duked it out for the title of Hip Hop's wealthiest. With a $25 million advantage, Diddy takes the crown for now. Forbes listed "Hip Hop's Wealthiest Artists" and provided the current top five with Diddy and Hov far ahead of the pack.

1. Diddy ($475 million)
2. Jay-Z ($450 million)
3. Dr. Dre ($125 million)

Just two years ago, Forbes listed Jay-Z's net worth as $160 million. For more on how Forbes determines their list, read the explaination of their methodology below.

"In order to form the list, we followed the same procedures we use to calculate the list of the world’s billionaires (released today) — valuing current holdings, looking at past earnings, leafing through financial documents and talking to a bevy of analysts, attorneys, managers and other industry players to find the nitty-gritty details. We considered only performers, which is why Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons isn’t on this list.

Game Drops Official First Single (RED NATION) Off his R.E.D Album

After so much hiatus, the westcoast rapper Game is finally gearing towards the release of his 4th album- R.E.D. He just dropped the first single off the album, titled RED NATION and it features Lil Wayne. If you ask me, i would have preferred he didn't get lil wayne to do the hook. He could have easy made The Kill, or I am King (2 songs off his purp and patron mixtape) singles.LAX

I just feel him featuring wayne is like trying to create another "My Life" (the first single off his last album, which also featured lil wayne). I don't know, i am not just really feeling this song as a first single. Maybe i need to listen to it a few more times. I got it on my phone this morning, and i have listened to it like 3 times or so. Maybe, i'll give it till monday and see how i feel about it then.

I am sure Jimmy Iovine and the other execs at Interscope Records made him do that so as to get some buzz for the album. I wish him all the best...follow this link to listen to the song-RED NATION

Rap Albums on The Billboard Charts

Yeah, i am back again on this lovely day- the remembrance of the death of The Notorious B.I.G, who was murdered on this day in 1997. A moment of silence for biggie, but the reason why i am hear today is to do a round down of all the rap albums on the billboard charts this week.

The first one up is Niki Minaj's debut, PINK FIRDAY, which sold 29,000 copies this week, bringing the total sales of the album to 1,189,000.
Recovery
Eminem is up next with his comeback from Relapse, RECOVERY. The album of the year for 2010- or maybe a tie with Rick Ross's TEFLON DON (based solely on overall success, and not lyrically skills displayed on the album). Eminem's 6th album sold 27,000 copies this week. The album is now at a total sales of 3,695,000 copies sold. It is moving gradually to being certified 4X  platinum in the U.S alone.

My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy from Kanye West is next on the charts with 14,000 copies sold, and a total of 1,062,000. I think the sales of this album is going to start rising very soon. As soon as his new single from the album- ALL OF THE LIGHTS, starts getting the recognition it deserves, it would have people going back to the store to pick up that album. I think the "all of the lights" single, which features Rihanna and Kid Cudi is just brilliant.Greatest Story Never Told

Lil wayne's I AM NOT A HUMAN BEING EP sold 12k this week, with total now at 796,000. T.I's "No Mercy" album sold 14k this week, with total at 784,000. Flokavelli from Wacka Flocka Flame sold 7,400 copies this week, and is now at a total of 217,000 copies. Nelly is at a total of 246,000 copies sold so far of his 5.0 Album, and he sold 5,100 copies this week. The Greatest Story Never Told by SAIGON sold 3,300 this week, and now at a total of 19,000.5.0 [Explicit]

AZ Comments on "Greatest Rapper of All Time" Issue

The greatest of all time has always been a debate in Rap/hip hop, and a lot of people from LL COOL J to Jay-Z have claimed it for themselves. Must people even believe the title belongs to dead rapper, Biggie (which i feel does not make sense, because he can not be judge more than the work he did, and it would mean that what ever every other person does would not count).

Below is what AZ has to say about the whole issue-
Who's the greatest of all time? I don't even know what names you could put [in that category]. I haven't studied it and it doesn't really make any sense. Hip-hop is too young to be calling out someone as the greatest of all time.

There's so many people that brought so much to the rap game in different zones in different categories throughout hip-hop. So what my question becomes, how can you label who's what? You got the eclectic people, you have the backpackers, the gangsters, the dancing rappers and so on. There's just too many categories for people to be able to choose a greatest of all-time.

It's never made sense to me. Calling out or naming a greatest of all-time don't make no sense. And nobody makes all those genres of music, as far as hip-hop, as one artist. You got some who go pop because the machine behind them pushing them into that genre and so you hear it everywhere. But you can't say these people are lyrically inclined as well as they can't do the gangster music, the party music and the other sorts of records out there.

It doesn't make no sense. I don't study none of that. I'm just in my own zone. I'm literally in my zone and I don't know what's going on elsewhere because there can't be a greatest of all time debate. It doesn't mean anything.

Joell Ortiz Looking to Settle Down

Slaughterhouse's Joell Ortiz is looking for "mrs right"- Joell is looking for a woman he can settle down with. I think this is a universal problem, even if if you are not a star, there can be the problem of who is really the one. And, being a celebrity even makes it worse because you do not know who is who- who loves you for you. I can remember when Tupac said in one interview that he ha gone to a club a week before hit it big, and the chics didn't even second look at him, and just the next weekend when he hit TV, he went to the same club and the chics were checking him out- he said it really bugged him out.

Anyhow, read the story below-
"'Her' is Mrs. Yaowa. It's time for me to start celebrating with somebody. I'm tired of coming home to my little apartment. I don't want to deal with the phone book of shorties [or] the substitute for Mrs. Right. I had just sat down on my couch and thought about that. And I had my computer in front of me, so I put it out there. Some dudes were clowning, like, 'That's a lonely tweet!' But I also had girls hollering, like, 'Trust me! I'm her.' No one wants to be alone. I haven't met 'her' yet. 'Cause I think if I would've came across her, I would have focused and locked in." (VIBE)

Lupe Fiasco Talks Contemplating suicide

Lupe Fiasco, one of the, if not the most lyrical emcee of the new breeds of rappers, recently touched on an issue that led him to depression, to a point where he actually contemplated suicide. I feel him, and i respect him for coming out to talk about it. There are two things that through my search for self-discovery, i have found that man most want on this earth- they are Love (acceptance), and getting his desire satisfied. This two things, when not gotten are the reasons we have WARS in the world today, and all the other domestic dispute all over the world. And, lupe was at a point when he was not getting acceptance (because he was far beyond his time...far beyond what the general public could comprehend with their shallow minds.), and he also was not getting his hearth's desire (to get his music out there)

Read more below-
Interference began, he says, after executives insisted that The Cool - and its million-selling single Superstar - were considered failures. A fractious process reached rock bottom when Atlantic's chairman, Craig Kallman, told him his verses and performance on a new song the label wanted him to record, called Nothing On You, were "wack". (That was before the song, with Lupe's verses removed and new ones written by its original guest vocalist, his friend B.o.B, became a worldwide hit last year.) "That was the tipping point," he says. "It was less about the bruised ego but more the audacity of it. It was mentally destructive. I say it with a certain laissez-faire now because I'm past it, but back then, hearin' that shit, it fucked me up. I was super-depressed, lightly suicidal, at moments medium suicidal - and if not suicidal, willing to just walk away from it all completely." (The Guardian)

Personally, i think we all have our places on this earth- we are all special and unique. I think the problem is that Atlantic records execs should have known that lupe was not going to be good for a song like that. That song is too poppish for a lupe. Anyway, i feel how lupe would have felt when they told him his verse was wack- wow! Lupe, wack!!? Nah! Never. He was just put in the wrong place.

Read below how he was specifically told by execs at Atlantic records to dumb down his music-
"I was specifically told" -- Fiasco chuckled -- "'Don't rap too deep on this record.'" He laughed some more. "That was a specific order from the top. 'You're rapping too fast or too slow, or it's too complex.' ... There are consequences and combat that comes from that process and the eventual compromise. With me, though, I'm not writing about someone else. I'm writing about me. This is my life. It's very personal for me. So for somebody to kind of put their fingers in that and play with that, it becomes more damaging." (Chicago Sun-Times)

In other news, lupe's new album drops on march 8th, that's just a couple of days from now, so you can pre-order it.

Nicki Minaj Breaks Another Record

Nicki Minaj broke another record with her album, Pink Friday- it has been on the top 10 charts for 14 weeks, that is the longest by any female rapper. Okay, but i would like to give my opinion, "right through you" is not a rap song, "you love" is not a straight up rap track, sort of like a sing rap kind of song...and the one with drake, i can't remember the title, is definitely not a rap track. Although i have not heard her whole album, but judging from all the tracks she has projected from the album, i can say the album should be under the pop category- or maybe rap/pop. I am sorry if you are a fan and you are reading this, but i am just being honest here. Or, maybe i am from the past, and this is the future- i don't know.

I wish her all the best...congratulations to her, at least she is reaping a lot, and making a name for herself. At least, she has roman's revenge, which is a rap track, although it has a lot of gimmicks in it,and it was a diss track...controversy sells.

Enough of my talk, read the story below:
The female rap vixen dropped her certified platinum debut album Pink Friday fourteen weeks ago. Since then, the album hasn't left the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 chart, thereby breaking yet another record for the most weeks in the Top 10 by a female rapper. Last year Nicki had a whole slew of broken records under her pink heavyweight belt, as "Your Love" reached the number one spot on the Billboard Rap Songs chart (a first for female rappers since close to a decade), Nicki had the most appearances at one time by a female rapper on the Billboard Hot 100, and then became the first female MC since Eve to achieve the number one spot on the Billboard charts. DJ Premier Names His Favorite Beefs

DJ Premier has been in the news a lot lately, and i am guessing he is working on something new. Anyway, he recently named his favorite beefs of all time; premier is from the old era, so you should expect beefs from back in days.

Read more below-
"Busy Bee and Kool Moe Dee is the ultimate, ultimate [beef]," Premier told DJ Vlad. "I know Busy Bee isn't on the level of rhyming skills -- Kool Moe Dee, I just never heard a rhyme like that back then. He just wouldn't stop -- So that's number one. Definitely Roxanne Shante, the Real Roxanne...[Number three], MC Lyte and Antoinette. That should be talked about even if you're in the new cats that's coming up in the game. Study this sh*t. This sh*t is a culture." (Vlad TV)
"Definitely 'Ether' and 'Takeover' when Nas went at Jay," Premier added. "Nas [won], but musically, [Jay] killed it with 'The Takeover.' ... Jay has a little bully in him. Nas is just, 'I'm rhyming, doing my one-two. And I'm chilling.' ... Jay won until 'Ether.' I don't even count 'Super Ugly.' That don't count. And I would have to say LL [Cool J] battling Ice-T and [MC] Hammer and everybody. That was ill right there." (Vlad TV)

It is funny he put Nas and Jay-Z up in there, but missed out pac and biggie, maybe he didn't want to touch on the matter of dead comrades. But, if you would ask me, although, pac and beef had more energy thrown into their beef, i think jay and nas's own beef was more lyrical...like it was a battle of two worthy emcees- both dope, but one choose to be commercial with his skills, and one went the knowledge kicking way. Till this day, i think that is still the best battle ever- Ether and Takeover can stand each other, and make people say this is better, and another set say, no, this is better...it literally divided the hiphop fans in two.

Yeah, i know pac and biggie did the same with their beef, but ask anybody what lines they can quote from biggie dissing pac. In fact, big never had any official reply for HIT EM UP, he just played it cool and went the subliminal way. And even HIT EM UP, which i consider the greatest beef ever, maybe neck to neck with ether, was more about the energy and directness and emotions pac put into that song, it wasn't really about skill.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts, and i would like to here yours.
