YOUNG BUCK FINALLY OUT OF G-UNIT CONTRACT

If this is true, then i would pop some champagne for YOUNG BUCK, cos i followed him all through the hard times- when he could not make any money becuase 50 didn't give him the go ahead to work with anybody, or make a full length album. I got the news from sohh.com, and i hope they have a confirmed source.

But, really, i never thought 50 CENT would release him from that contract, but i guess that is a good move from 50. I GUESS HE WENT TO CHURCH YESTERDAY AND THE PREACHER SAID SOMETHING ABOUT FORGIVENESS. LOL! Sorry, i used the CAPS for emphasis

Below is the news;

A 100% reliable source just told us that 50 Cent has let Young Buck out of his contract with G-Unit. In April 2008 50 Cent announced on Hot 97 that Young Buck was kicked out the group, but was still contractually signed to G-Unit. Since that time, Buck has been unable to release any commercial music. Buck is currently working his new single "My Campaign", produced by Drumma Boy. It will be interesting what he does with his new position. If he can get singles reacting on the radio, he get into a good position. But considering the amount of time that he's been off the radar, it will be an uphill climb for Young Buck. (57th

So, very soon, you would soon start hearing some good music from BUCK, because that guy has some FIRE!!!

LLOYD BANKS'S BEAMER, BENZ or BENTLY GOES GOLD

I think i am really happy for this G-UNIT soldier, and i hope he made the must of the money. Lloyd Banks latest single, BEAMER, BENZ, or BENTLEY has gone GOLD; that means it has sold 500,000 digital copies. WOW! That is cool. Let me do the math, if he made 1 dollar off each sale, that is an equivalent of 500k dollars to his name; that is so cool.Even if he made 50 cents off each one...lol! He is still cool.

G-Unit's Banks scored a Juelz Santana-assisted smash in his days between leaving Interscope Records and signing to EMI.
Lloyd Banks' song "Beamer, Benz Or Bentley" has officially reached gold. Banks' longtime friend and bandmate confirmed the news yesterday on Twitter
Released in February of 2010, the Juelz Santana-assisted record produced by Prime became a radio and commercial success without major label backing. During the time of the heavily-remixed song's climb on the charts, Banks was renegotiating a contract at Interscope Records. Earlier this month, the G-Unit emcee finally reached an agreement with EMI Records to distribute his next album. That release, The Hunger For More 2, is planned for November, and is said to carry "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" with it, as well as the Lloyd-assisted "Any Girl."

Jay-Z and Kanye West to Drop 5 track EP

Yeah, KANYE WEST and his BOSS, Jay-Z are set to drop a 5 track collabo EP. The first track off the EP is the remix to Kanye's latest single, POWER. I haven't heard the remix, so i can't really say much about it, but i think judging from past collabo's, the two work together just fine. 5 TACKS? I think it would be dope.

I won't be checking for it, but i know it would be good. I am not just in the mood for that kind of stuff...the kind of stuff they would come out with...FOR THE RADIO type songs. I really want to hear some deep rap right now.

Anyway, i informed you, so start looking out for it.

Below is what they had to say about the album;

Ye says that "Monster" is the second song in a series of five between Roc-A-Fella's co-founder and its most successful artist.
In the last two weeks, two Kanye West and Jay-Z collaborations have surfaced. On August 12, the "Power (remix)" was leaked, featuring the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder and the label's most successful '00s together. Yesterday, as part of what West has deemed "G.O.O.D Fridays," "Monster" surfaced, finding the two on the same song, this time with Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Indie Rock group Bon Iver.

According to Kanye West's Twitter, "Monster" is the second song of a five-song collaborative EP between the Chicago producer/emcee and the Brooklyn lyricist. The work will be reportedly called Watch The Throne. Details have yet to emerge regarding labels or release dates. Presently, West is a Def Jam artist, while Jay-Z left the label in 2008 after 12 years with the imprint

Eminem Rules with Recovery

Before i go on typing, i would like to apologize for not bringing the segment of top rap albums on billboard, i would bring that tomorrow.

I would like to say though, that eminem continues his dominance on the chart, as the highest selling rap album, for over 2 months now. I think the album is going out as the highest selling album for 2010. Eminem is surely smiling to the bank.

The album is selling 100k plus every week, and it has done 2.2million copies in the U.S alone. And it has sold 4 million globally. I think em has a brilliant formula for this album that would guarantee that it keep selling for a long time. The fact that he mixed his emotions with his usual wit, with his lyricism, with melodious choruses; that is a winner right there.

His latest single with Rihanna is blowing up the charts and making sure RECOVERY snags more sales..

Black Rob Blast Diddy

I don't know anybody that has worked with Diddy that has not later complained about his work ethics; about him being in one way or the other shady. The L.O.X, rap group containing JADAKISS, SHEEK LOUCH and STYLES P had an all out campaign at shows, radio, TV when they wanted to get off his label back in the early 00's after they accused him of not giving them what they were worth financially, and some one-sided benefits in his contract with them.

There was Mase, 112, and the list goes on. Who knows how he and BIGGIE'S relationship would have turned out if big had not died in 1997.

You can read what BLACK ROB had to say about him below:
"As far as all the people at Bad Boy, nobody reached out to me [when I was in jail] because all it takes is the press of a button, department of corrections, you know my name and birthday, I used to work here," Black Rob said in an interview. "When I heard this n*gga went to see [Lil] Wayne in jail and you ain't come and see BR? After all the years we spent together? Like, that sh*t didn't mean nothing to you, dawg? You actually think I'm not your man? So that right there, told me, that n*gga was never my man. You had like 50 employees, you ain't even have to write the letter -- Puff wasn't the one doing the records with me, he was just the last word. 'Good record. I like that, I wanna get on that.' He's not in the studio, 20 hours, 15 hours with me, never. It wasn't no love over there man. It wasn't no love. Dudes was just using, just trying to use me...They used the Black Rob Report as a spring board for the Biggie duet album. Puff wasn't doing nothing. He ain't have no records out. It was dry, everybody was going." (This Is 50)

Timbaland got robbed over $2 million worth of jewelry

Timbaland recently got jacked for over 2 million dollars worth of jewelry; men, that is a lot. The funny thing was that when i saw the heading, it was not written the way i wrote mine, it was written to attract readers, so they claimed he wanted to commit suicide. Anyway, his family did think he was going to kill himself, as he acted that way after he found out abot the theft.

Read below what really happened.
Here's what we're told happened ... Timbaland was on the phone earlier in the day with his brother-in-law ... deeply upset about something. We're told one of the things that was eating at him was a theft at his Malibu residence a day before. Someone had stolen a crazy expensive Jacob & Co. watch -- valued at $2 million -- and Timbaland suspected it might have been someone he trusted. Timbaland left his home yesterday and began driving. Family members couldn't locate him, became extremely worried and called the Sheriff's Department. (TMZ)

Timbo's family was nervous that the Virginia native would hurt himself after a $2 million piece of jewelry was stolen. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department brought out all the stops--a helicopter and squad cars--to try to find the Grammy-winner's Escalade. After some time, the vehicle was located and Timbo was brought back to his home, where paramedics determined that he did not present a threat to himself or others. (XXL Mag)
Where i am from in Nigeria, they would not even care about stuff like this; although it is only usual for the paramedics to do something like this, it is just odd to me.

I hope he overcomes it, and know that there is more to life than that; at least it was not his life that was taken. Although i know how painful something liek that can be.

baby on the success of "cash money records" compared to other labels in its category

Baby did a little bragging recently, but i guess he has the rights to do that, because you got to ask; where are all the other record labels that started off in the 90's? Where is NO LIMIT? Where is SO SO DEF? Where is RUFF RYDERZ? And the list goes on. I think he and his brother, SLIM, have done a lot of work in making sure they stay relevant, even more relevant than when they started off, and they are growing everyday.

"I look at that sh*t as we went through war and we sustained the weather and we stood in the fog," Baby said in an interview. "Even when muthaf*ckas counted us out, we stood up and we manned up. We did everything we had to, to get where we're at today. I think God gives it to ya when he feels you're ready for it. It took us a long time; we had to go through a lot of changes. A lot of obstacles, losses, gains. I just think right now we're so great at this sh*t. We got so many young n*ggas who look at me and Wayne and what we've accomplished. You see the hunger [that] Drake and all the rest of those little n*ggas [have] because they're reaching for those stories. We work like n*ggas who never made a dollar and I think that's impressive to them. That makes them go harder. Those little n*ggas got promising futures." (XXL Mag)

Just last week, my friend was playing JUVINILE'S "back that ass up", and i heard LIL WAYNE at the end, i was like, wow, such a long time ago. That was actually 11 years ago, and i remember how juvy was the hottest cash money artist back then. But wayne really stayed in there...i guess baby really believed in him.

Jay-Z, and P-Diddy dorminate Forbes Cash Kings List,; 50 Cent slips further down the list

Forbes has been known to draft a list of the highest earning artist in hiphop over a period of twelve months through the year; running from July- July of the next year. Three people that have been constant on the list have been JAY-Z, P-DIDDY and 50 CENT, but 50 cents slips way below his 2nd position in 2008, and 4th position last year.

Below are some of the artist on the list:
Forbes released their annual hip-hop cash king list today and at the top of the pile is Jay-Z. They estimate Hov grossed $63 million last year. Rounding out the top five are Dr.Dre ($17 million), Lil Wayne ($20 million), Akon ($21 million) and Diddy ($30 million) (Rap Radar)

Wow! Jay doubled the earnings of diddy, the second on the list. I think jay is just in a lane of his own right now. He must have made must of that money from his BLUEPRINT3 album, and all the touring. I guess he has to compete against his wife, BEYONCE, and that would definitely keep him on his toes.

Check out some other artist on the list:
6. Ludacris, $16 million. 7. Snoop Dogg, $15 million. 8. Timbaland, $14 million. 9. Pharrell Williams, $13 million. 10. Kanye West, $12 million. 11. Drake, $10 million. 12. T.I., $9 million. 13. Eminem $8 million 14. 50 Cent, $ 8 million 15. Young Jeezy (Forbes)

I kinda feel really good to see that LUDACRIS is making his dough, because he is so under-rated. Snoop must have made all that money from his sitcom, "snoopdog fatherhood", because i don't see any other way he made all that money, because his album, MALICE N WONDERLAND, did not do good numbers.

More on Young Buck

I just can't stop myself from typing up post on Young Buck anytime i see any news about him, because i am really feeling his pain at this moment. For a man to be held against his will for so long can be very frustrating. If you didn't know, young buck has not been able to release any full lenght album since he left G-Unit, because 50 cent has to let him out of his deal, or give him permission for him to do anything, and 50 is not ready to do that right now.

Below is what he had o say about his relationship with Dr Dre:

"Dr. Dre is an individual who I wish I heard from at some point in time because his voice in my situation would means a lot. He don't have to on my side or [50 Cent's] side, but just say something, bro. I even told Game to say 'what's up' to Dre for me, but I haven't heard anything..I haven't received an email or spoken to Dre in three years...I haven't heard from Dr. Dre or Eminem... not to say my situation is any part of their business but at a point in time I was sitting in front of these dudes. And I'm not looking for them to take sides or anything, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what is being done to me from their artist." (VIBE)

I think from what i read, EMINEM  or Dre would have helped him out if he had left the g-unit peacefully, and not release diss track at them. Let us look at it this way, you live your father's house, and start saying negative things about him, and then you want to get married, and you want him to be present and give you his blessings...i don't think it works that way. He would have tried to be diplomatic about the whole thing, and maybe he would have gotten a positive response from 50 cent. Or at least, then he would have been able to go to people to help him talk to 50.

tony yayo mocks fat joe

I don't know if this FAT JOE/50 CENT ...G-UNIT thing would ever stop...I think fat joe said something about fighting 50, and below is what yayo had to say about it....

"That'd be funny," Yayo said when told about Fat Joe wanting to have a one-on-one with 50 Cent and then squash their beef. "For me, from my perspective, that would be the worst thing Fat Joe would want to do in his life. To go in the ring with 50 Cent, 50 will beat the brakes off that man and I'd bet a million dollars on it. I'll take a million dollars out of my own money and I bet he'll beat the brakes off of Fat Joe because Fat Joe eats burgers and all of that and 50's running, his last movie when he lost all the weight, from the airport to the hotel. Now in a fight, it's all about endurance. It's about who's gonna last longer, who's gonna be winning. I give Fat Joe 40 seconds in the ring and his fat a** will fall somewhere. 50 will wear him out...I never had a beef with Fat Joe, 50 had a beef with him and whatever beef 50 has, I have. And that's how his n*ggas feel too. It's back and forth bullsh*t, but you know, it ain't nothing." (Hip Hop Gossip Site)

the decline of album sales in hiphop

I think except from EMINEM, JAY-Z, LIL WAYNE, KANYE WEST and T.I, everybody else is scared of the low numbers they would do when their albums drop. I can say that if jay would have dropped BLUEPRINT 3 right after the first un-official single, JOCKING JAY-Z, dropped, he would not have sold as much as he did. He dropped that single, and the “Brooklyn we go hard” joint, but he was not getting the right amount of buzz to drop an album, so he went back to the drawing board.

He strategize, and knew that controversy always sells, so he came up with DEATH OF AUTOTUNE, and after, he knew he was ready to drop the album. You see, jay is very wise, and he has a lot of good analyst behind him. Check out the make up of blueprint 3, almost all the tracks were made with a commercial appeal to it. He got KANYE WEST producing a lot of tracks, because kanye reaches out to both rap lovers, and white geeks; that alone guarantees him thousands of kanye fans, checking out for him. And then, with the next single, what does he do, he gets kanye west on it, and the hottest rising R&B star, RIHANNA to sing on the chorus. Then, the rest of the album is full of guest appearances of up and coming./rising stars; J.COLE, DRAKE, KID CUDI, MR HUDSON. All these would get him the new rap listeners, without him doing what they do, and he pulled it off perfectly.

I am not disputing the fact that jay is a great rapper, on of the best ever, but if he had just dropped the album just off the hype that he is JAY-Z, he sure wouldn’t have done those numbers.

From 50 CENT, YOUNG JEEZY, THE GAME…they are all scared that there albums wouldn’t do as much as they want; or to put it this way, they are scared of the embarrassing numbers that their albums would do. I just got off sohh.com, and read how young jeezy dropped a diss track aimed at RICK ROSS; he is going at his on label mate just to get a buzz. For real, nobody is selling records anymore; apart from the 5 I mentioned above. I don’t think jeezy can go plat again, I don’t care if he drops a banger right now, he wouldn’t go platinum.

Game knew that; his DOCUMENTARY album sold 2.5 million(in the u.s alone), DOCTOR’S ADVOCATE (1.0 million copies), L.A.X (760,000), with decreasing numbers in sales like that, he had to do something before he dropped his next album, or he might find it hard going gold. That is why he has been pushing the album back all year, and I guess he has finally found a winning formula. His new, solely produced by COL AND DRE, mixtape, BREAKLIGHTS have a lot of people checking for him again. I guess he should just ditch PHARELL, and record more cool and dre tracks for the RED album.

As for 50 cent, I think his case is worse. He was pocking fun at FAT JOE just last week, saying joe’s album had only managed to sell 5,000 copies in its first week(which was a lie, because even though the numbers are low, THE DARKSIDE VOL 1 sold 12k in its first week), and feeling like he killed someone’s career. Fat joe has never been a huge seller; I think he has only one album, out of the 10 so far, that went platinum; he is a GOLD artist, and with the atmosphere of hiphop right now, coupled with the fact that he is 100% independent on KOCH RECORS right now, he is still okay. You can’t compare him with someone(50 CENT), whose first two albums, GET RICH OR DIE TYRYING and THE MASSACRE, sold in excess of 5 million each, and that is just in the U.S; and his last album, that dropped last year, BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT, just managed to sell 467,000 copies, now, who is the real loser? And I am sure he spent way more than that to promote the album.

Back to the state of album sales, even the southern rappers(apart t.i, wayne and luda) are not longer selling records. Everybody that has come out in the last 10 weeks, from BIG BOI, to FAT JOE, to every other rapper that I can’t remember their name, because they just be popping up every minute, are struggling to sell 200k copies. That is why I laugh when people say TEFLON DON is a flop; how can an album selling 180k in it’s first week be consider a flop in this climate. That is just 220k copies less than DRAKE did with his THANK ME LATER debut, and me and you know all the money that has gone into marketing that project. I can bet on anything that if 50 dropped an album right now, he might not even sell as much as 100k in his first week. With all the hype he gave the last one, he only sold 140k first week, so he better stick to the acting he currently engages in.

I think 500k is the new platinum, lol! It is just so bad, but the fact is that the people selling records are still selling records so you can’t completely blame it on downloads. Eminems recovery is flying off the rack; he has sold 1.6 million copies in the U.S, and way over 3 million copies worldwide. The only person I don’t understand how he does it is T.I. I have followed his sales since that KING album, and he has been very consistent with it, always selling between, 500-600k in opening week. I would like to see what his new album, KING UNCHAINED does.

young buck vs 50 cent

Former G-UNIT member, "young buck" was not as lucky as "game" with his departure from the clique, in that he was signed directly by 50 CENT himself to g-unit, so he has been going through rough times for the last 2 years. I actually feel for him at this point, because, asides from putting out mixtapes, he can not put out a full length studio album unless 50 allows it, or he gets out of his contract, but 50 ain't ready to do that. I guess buck should have thought about that before making the move to exit the unit.

50 can be a devil, the way he is stalling the future of this young black man, in a bid to punish him for his actions. Below is what buck had to say about the situation:

"It's on the way," Buck said about his next official album when we caught up with him recently in Houston. "The music speaks for itself. I'm everywhere when it comes to online -- I throw music out. People are already aware of my situation ... the whole fight with the contract thing. It's about to get real, real interesting, people. I will say that much...If you ain't focused on Buck, now is the time to get focused on Buck," he continued. "With this whole contract situation, we really gonna see what this was really about. Y'all mark my words: I'll be back to MTV to finish this when it all ends. At the end of the day, I appreciate the people that's sticking right there through the fight I'm going through as far as my contract situation." (MTV)

I just hope he get's his act together before people forget about him. He has more to say below:
"His reaction, being so harsh, is to basically stall me out to a position where I lose everything, to where my numbers drop," Young Buck told the Nashville Scene in a new interview. "Because if you don't have a new product out, then you can't go get the big dollar for your shows. [He wants] to pretty much destroy my life from a silent-sided way of doing things. That's his angle, and my contracts allow him to be able to do that. The problem is, I go to be a feature on [an artists'] hit record, and then they have to go to 50 Cent to clear me on the record, and he says, 'No.' And they're looking like, 'Well, d*mn' -- cause if it wasn't for that I would probably be on every record that's out right now, cause everybody and their mama reaches out and gives me support." rap albums on the billboard chart

I have to apologise for not bringing you this segment of my blog for two weeks now; i usally do this weekly, but because i have been very busy working on my book(which is now done), i didn't have time to bring it for you guys. Enough of the story, back to why you are reading this. There are a couple of new rap albums on the billboard chart, but they are not doing big numbers.

Eminem is still killing the charts, moving units than anybody out right now. His RECOVERY album has sold 1,828,000 copies so far in the U.S, and it did 159,000 copies this week. The album is gearing towards 4 million copies in global sales, and it would have gone 2 times platinum by this time next week.

RICK ROSS'S fourth album, "teflon don" is the next contender on the charts after eminem for the highest selling rap album. It did 63,000 copies in its second week, bringing it to a total of 239,000 copie sold so far.

DRAKE is almost plat at 915,000 copies sold so far. The young money artist sold 34,000 copies this week. A couple of weeks more, and he would be certified platinum.

Tech N9ne did 17 thousand copies this week, bringing his total to 107,000. And Fat joe's 10th album, THE DARK SIDE VOL 1, did 12,300 copies in its debut week.

the game to drop track with nas which has nas going at 50 cent

I remember hearing 50CENT'S "piggybank" record and i was like, "what! how can you go against some of the best rappers to come out of new york, "jadakiss", "nas" and "fat joe", but i guess he wanted to get people talking. He succeeded in doing that, and also in selling million of records off of that, for his second album, THE MASSACRE.

In the midst of all the beef, nas never replied, claiming 50 was not on his level lyrically and and experience wise, so he just did some interviews, and a line here and there, but no ETHER for 50 cent. One of the tracks that had some subliminal lines aimed at 50 from nas was a "game" track, STREET RIDERS, that featured "akon.

Below is what "black wall street dj", DJ SKEE, had this to say about the track:

Included on the tape is "Street Riders," on which guest MC Nas references Pharrell Williams by name and throws some subliminals at 50 Cent. "I showed n---as their first Bentley/ How the f--- I window shop?" he raps. "We've actually had it done forever," Skee said. "It was actually supposed to be on the Doctor's Advocate album. It didn't make it for one reason or another. There's been a bunch of different reincarnations of the song. ... I actually have eight different versions of the song. Game, he went back in. He said, 'It's time to do it.' Cool & Dre did the beat. So we was like, 'Let's throw it on the mixtape. It's probably never going to come out other than that.' I played a snippet of it on the radio years ago, and fans have been going crazy since then. We threw that on. Game did two new verses. He wanted to make it more relevant for today. You have a crazy Nas verse. Akon kills the hook. It's one of the craziest, darkest Cool & Dre beats. It's one of my favorite Game records ever. So it's finally out, Brake Lights, it's official." (MTV)

I would like to hear that track, because if you put nas, game, cool n dre and akon together, you can only get a banger.

what's up right now in hiphop

Yeah, what's up right now in hiphop...eminem is killing the charts with his latest album, RECOVERY. I think it is wonderful that eminem dropped another album a year after RELAPSE. If i may say, recovery is what relapse should have been. I remember hearing the first single off relapse and i was wondering what eminem was still doing releasing a corny ass single like WE MADE YOU. Come on! You are a grown ass man. So when i saw the video for NOT AFRAID, i knew he was on track.

The album has sold like 1.5 million copies nationally, and 3 mill globally. It is a great album; if you don't have it yet, make sure you go out and get it at any chance you get. A lot of slipping and switching of skills on this one. And a lot of emotions being poured in the tracks.

What else is up, DRAKE'S album finally came out and hmmmm!!! I just have to say that THANK ME LATER is not doing the kind of numbers that i thought it would do. And i am sure they spent so much on that album, and it would take a while to recoup. It is at about 800k after about 6 weeks. Come on! I thought LIL WAYNE said it would sell 2 mill in it's first week.

Next up is KANYE WEST. He is about to dropped his album; back to rap, no more singing. Let's see how this one goes. I think i am looking out for T.I's KING UNCHAINED(I HOPE I GOT THE TITLE). I think it would be a nce album.

Lastly, GAME dropped his new mixtape, BRAKELIGHTS, yesterday. You should get that to, he put a lot into it.
