In the last week or so, there has been a lot of direct and subliminal disses from both LIL KIM and "nicki minaj" towards themselves, which started off when lil kim felt the list nicki minaj could do after stealing her whole style was to at least pay homage. I am not too sure, but I think I read some time ago that nicki credited lil kim as being one of the artist that influenced her; maybe I read wrongly.

So, the dissing has been going back and fort for the last 10 days or so, and a lot of people have weighed in on the matter.

Nicki's label mate, DRAKE had this to say:

"I just feel Lil Kim is a 'G' in the game, I feel like you're part of an era that's classic, that we'll never forget as young kids, me and Nicki, so it's like, you don't have to do that," Drake told television personality DJ Envy. "You don't have to get on stage and announce your presence and tell people to pay homage. That's a given and I watched Nicki pay homage to her time and time again and I just didn't respect it at all and whoever else was on stage with her, I don't respect that. You're just wearing your heart on your sleeve, you're showing that you're upset. And to me, nobody's done that to me yet and you know, but I would never expect Jay or Ye to get on stage and be like, 'Yo, pay homage to me! You need to respect me!' They know, they command my respect. They know their music and talent and that just signs that you're losing it, like, that's just how I felt and I really did take that personally. It bothered me and I really don't get too caught up with the Twitter, Internet stuff, but I did see it and I was like, 'You're supposed to be a 'G' and that just wasn't 'G' to me at all." I think I understand what drake is trying to say, that kim is bigger than that, but I have to correct him there though, when he compares the situation with if jay-z and kanye west would go up and ask him to pay homage- well, the difference with that and nicki minaj's case is that he didn't steal anybody's style, but it is clear that nicki minaj was influenced by lil kim, and her not confirming it, and then running with the whole lil kim swag when lil kim is still alive, and planning to drop a new album, now, that is a problem.

Let's read what controversial rapper, 50CENT have to say in the whole matter:

I think for the first time, I am seeing a point to what 50 cent has to say; I think he makes a point there. You know how lil kim can get with all her BIGGIE campaign, and for P.DIDDY, to now compare RICK ROSS to BIG, and then want to manage nicki, wow! I know how kim would feel about it.

Now, let's read what FAT JOE had to say about the matter;

"I think she's super dope," Joey Crack said about Minaj. "I think she's sexy, she's doing her thing. She's killing them, fly fashion, she's got it all, you know what I'm saying? It's like, sky's the limit. Yeah, Nicki Minaj needs to pay homage, she needs to say, 'Yo, Kim is dope.' What's wrong with that? 'Yo, Kim is dope, she's the sh*t.' I'm a fan, I've been in the game for f*cking 17 years and I still say KRS-One is my idol. I still say LL Cool J is my idol. It's nothing wrong with saying 'Yo, Kim is the sh*t.' That's fat joe right there trying to be extra diplomatic, but getting his point across. Even though he is friends with YOUNG MONEY/CASH MONEY C.E.O, he has to get his point along.

To end this, I would just like to push my point across; i don't think nicki would ever pay homage, because, right now, she has all the fame, and it is getting to her head, and she would feel she is disappointing her fans if she did that; her ego wouldn't even allow her to do that right now. But what I have to say is that, in a lyrically battle, lil kim would show nicki minaj who the baddest bitch is.

NICKI MINAJ, the new female rap sensation is having some sort of beef with legendary female rapper, LIL KIM. There has been a lot of back and fort comments on someone not paying homage, and someone having hate, blah! blah! blah! Before i take sides, and i don't even think i am going to take sides, i would just spit the truth, the facts, and let you judge for yourself.
Lil kim has been in the rap game for over 15 years, although she has had some major set backs with her rap career in the last 3 years or so; Nicky minaj is the hottest female rapper right now. Lil kim was the queen of rap for more than a decade during the heights of her reign; NICKY MINAJ has been in the game just 2 years. Lil kim has 4 solid albums(that have all gone platinum) to her name; Nicky is yet to drop her sophomore album. Lil kim has been rumored to have done a couple of plastic surgeries that make her look very horrible right now; Nicki minaj is young and beautiful. Lil kim is very lyrical and has held her own in songs that she featured or was featured by male rappers; Nicki minaj is also lyrical in her way and has done collaborations with some male rappers of her time.

Okay, those are the facts, let me do a little analysis, and give you my own opinion on the issue. I think the whole beef is about lil kim demanding that nicki pay homage to her for at least using her whole style. I think you have to agree with kim that nicki minaj stole the whole sexiness swag lil kim was\is known with, so she said she didn't mind, and didn't have any problem but she atleast wanted a prop of some kind. I guess she wants nicki minaj to admit the influence "lil kim" had on her, maybe probably through an interview or something.

And nicki is not down with that as she has shown with all the subliminal disses she has been sending to kim via twitter. So let me come in and say my piece, and i will try to make it short. I think lil kim has a right to question nicki, because it is clear that nicki did steal her whole style, and the whole barbie movement that kim made popular in the 90's and the 00's.

That's it, that's all i am going to say about the whole issue, because i don't want to get to emotional...........................Okay, let me confess, i am a big lil kim fan and i think she is the best female rapper of all time; she is the G.O.A.T when it comes to female rap, and i don't think anybody can take that away from her, and i don't care what DRAKE wants to make people think with his bias unwarranted judgement of the whole issue.

And about nicki minaj?  I have to confess, i didn't like her when  i first heard her, cos she sounded so much like lil wayne, and i was wondering who this "female version of lil wayne" was, but after a while, i kind of understood her, and started seeing her potential. I heard a couple of featuring she did and i liked them; i guess i didn't like her delivery, but when i listened to what she was actually saying, and the metarphors she was dropping, i gave it to her. Now, i think i like her whole package; she is cool, and she would go places with the present generation of rap listeners.

I have to add that i don't really like her new track, "massive attack", the single to her upcoming debut album. I did some research and heard some of her old stuff before she signed with young money, and she was really really good on them. I mean underground tracks she dropped back in 2007.


Okay, i think, through all my rambling, i have been able to give you my opinion on the whole situation.

Below is what lil kim had to say about the issue:

 "Here's my thing, all females that come in the game, we all need to stick together and I always try my best to embrace them but what happens is when you come into the game and realize that I'm not going away and my fans are still here and they can't just step over me. They can't just step on me and then they're kinda like, they get upset and then they don't want to be my friend anymore and I think that's really childish, you know what I'm saying? It's stupid because all I ask for is to be respected -- pay homage at the end of the day, a lot of things go on behind the scenes that people don't know about and it will be aired out. You can't hide the truth -- when I came out to do this promo tour, it was a reminder of where it came from because if you're gonna swagger jack somebody and take their style, at least pay the respect and the homage..." Below is what RAY J had to say about the whole issue:
"I'm not saying no names, but you know who," he continued, referencing biting Kim's style after calling Kim the greatest female rapper ever. Lil Kim added, "We love her. We just want her to pay homage," making an obvious reference to Minaj. "If you don't pay homage then f*ck you," she concluded. (Hip Hop DX)

And below is what DRAKE had to say:

"I know you be calling women b*tches in sh*t but I can't say you the baddest b*tch. I can't do that because I respect you, I love you too much and you look too beautiful. So I just wanna say you the baddest WOMAN to do this rap sh*t. I don't give a f*ck what Lil' Kim or nobody else is talkin about, you're the baddest chick to ever do this sh*t! " Nicki turned around laughing, then came back and hugged him. He told her "I love you." Then he left the stage. (Necole Bitchie)
